8. Daniel Joseph Baker: Turning Tables

One of the best young performers that graced the America’s Got Talent stage this year was Katy, Texas native Daniel Joseph Baker.  Every time he performed in the competition, he gave strong vocal performances.   His version of Adele’s “Turning Tables” in this year’s semi-finals was no exception.

7. Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr.:  Fly Me to the Moon

When America was introduced to future America’s Got Talent Season Six Champion Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. at his audition, they could not believe that a car washer was singing Sinatra.    His rendition of “Fly Me to the Moon” gave viewers goose bumps and received an ovation from judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne.

6.  Lys Agnes: Bring Me to Life

For the past four years, America’s Got Talent has given us incredible opera singers.  This year’s opera darling Lys Agnes took a risk and merged rock with opera when she sang Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life.”  The risk paid off and Agnes earned a place in the show’s Top 10.

5. Josh Krajcik: Wild Horses

One of the best performances that were featured on the show belonged to the 30-year-old former burrito maker from Columbus, Ohio.  Krajcik delivered his moving take on The Rolling Stones’ classic song and received a standing ovation from all four judges.

4. Haley Rinehart: The House of The Rising Sun

American Idol Season 10 produced only a few strong singers and two average country artists but two future superstars were born on this stage and one was Haley Rinehart.    Week after week, Rinehart delivered impeccable performances but when she sang “The House of The Rising Sun,” she performed a jazzy version that would make Ella Fitzgerald weep in joy.

3. Rachel Crow: I Believe

This 13-year-old Colorado native took The X Factor stage by storm this season.  One of Crow’s best moments on the show was when she sang “I Believe” on the show’s Give Thanks week.   Crow’s vocals were powerful and gave this author goose bumps.  It is shame she was eliminated this week but Crow has a bright future ahead of her.

 2. Pia Toscano: I Stand By You

The other star that was born on the American Idol stage this year was Pia Toscano.  This former make-up artist performed “I’ll Stand by You.”   Her rendition of Heart’s classic song blew everyone away and received the first standing ovation of the season.    Unfortunately in one of the year’s shocking eliminations, Pia was eliminated in the final nine, which caused countless of boos and had judge Jennifer Lopez in tears.

  1. Stacy Francis: Purple Rain

The best performance of the year came from 40-year-old single mom Stacy Francis.  She first blew viewers away at her audition where she earned an ovation for her take on “Natural Woman.”   At the judges’ house, Stacy performed a gospel version of Prince’s “Purple Rain” for Nicole Scherzinger and her guest Enrique Iglesias.  Both were moved by the performance.
