Jennifer Nettles kicks off our countdown with her first single off of her upcoming solo studio album! Her anti-“Jolene” gave listeners chills and excitement for January 14, 2014 (That Girl’s release date).

14. Paul Anka & Michael Jackson: “This is It

For his Duets album, legendary singer-songwriter Paul Anka released a posthumous duet with the King of Pop. Mr. Anka’s impeccable arrangements combined with Jackson’s vocals will make music aficionados wish the King of Pop was still around.

10. Celine Dion & Ne-Yo: “Incredible

The Canadian powerhouse’s duet with the R&B crooner was one of the most beautiful collaborations of 2013.  Their voices complemented each other and gave us something to remember.

9. Robin Thicke feat. Pharrell Williams & T.I.: “Blurred Lines

You could not turn on a radio station this year without hearing “Blurred Lines!” Robin’s beautiful falsetto combined with a sensational rap from T.I. and amazing production from Pharrell made this song both a spring and summer anthem.

I know that Mother Monster has a duet with R. Kelly that is being blasting on the radio right now…but her collaboration with Christina Aguilera was the surprise of the year!  I, along with a lot of music lovers, would love to download this duet from iTunes soon!

7. Bon Jovi: “Because We Can

Bon Jovi’s inspirational rock anthem woke fans up from the winter slumber and ignited a fire that inspired people to help out others!

6. Fall Out Boy: “My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark

After a three-year-hiatus, Fall Out Boy came back with a reinvented sound and an explosive song that featured louder guitars and impeccable drumming from Andy Hurley.

5. John Legend: “All of Me

John Legend’s piano ballad dedicated to his wife, Chrissy Teigen, showcased beautiful piano strokes and superb vocals from the R&B singer.

Imagine Dragons’ superb song was covered a lot during 2013.  However, the most stunning reinterpretation of the hit was from Pentatonix and amazing violinist Lindsey Stirling.  Stirling’s eloquent playing combined with Pentatonix’s vocal arrangements made their cover of “Radioactive”-the best cover of 2013!

3. Justin Timberlake: “Mirrors

2013 was a huge year for the President of Pop! During his return to the music world, JT released a single that was inspired by his wife, Jessica Biel, and his grandparents. The music video received over 143,000,000 views on YouTube.

2. Elton John: “Home Again

The Diving Board marked Sir Elton’s 31st studio album. One of the most emotional songs on the album was “Home Again.” Elton’s brilliant melody combined with legendary songwriting partner Bernie Taupin’s splendid lyrics makes this one of the year’s best pieces of ear candy.

1. Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams: “Get Lucky

With over 150 million views on YouTube and two Grammy nominations, Daft Luck and Pharrell Williams’ “Get Lucky” is Jake’s Take’s Song of the Year!
