It’s hard to believe but America’s Got Talent: All-Stars (AGT: All-Stars) has finally entered the finale portion of the program.
Thanks to the superfans’ stupidity, average (and below average) acts have made it here over several Got Talent icons such as Terry Fator, Jeanick Fournier, Cristina Rae, Emil & Dariel, Jimmie Herrod, Eric Chien, and the World Taekwondo Demonstration Team. Half of the on-air team’s Golden Buzzers (I am looking at you, Heidi and Terry Crews) did not deserve to be here.
Who rose to the occasion? Did any of the judges (Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel) use their buzzer? Which acts are one step closer to becoming AGT: All-Stars’ inaugural winner? Read on to find out!
Once Terry Crews made his epic entrance to the AGT: All-Stars stage and revealed that the Superfans had all the power this week, it was time to get down to business. Detroit Youth Choir received both of Terry Crews’ Golden Buzzers, and now they are shooting to be the kings and queens of the Got Talent kingdom. Tonight, they performed Panic! At the Disco’s “Hey Look Ma, I Made It.” It was too much school assembly and not Vegas. Also, Heidi and Simon, Angel City Chorale, and NDLOVU are the two best choirs in show history. They would eat DYC for lunch! F
Romania’s Got Talent winner Ana-Maria Mărgean returned to the AGT: All-Stars stage in hopes of persuading the superfans to vote for her to win the title of the spin-off’s first champion. She introduced the audience to her mentor and vocal coach, Mrs. Know It All. They performed “I Put a Spell On You.” Ana has a fabulous voice, and like Darci Lynne, she could be her generation’s Shari Lewis. A
Pilipinas Got Talent winners Power Duo beat out the legendary NDLOVU Youth Choir for a spot in the AGT: All-Stars finale. However, the couple decided to perform a dangerous stunt for their son. There is something special about this duo, as their acrobatics are spectacular and mesmerizing. B+
Britain’s Got Talent: Series 15 singer Tom Ball made his spectacular American debut after receiving the Group Golden Buzzer. After his performance, he returned to the UK to marry his wife, and she came with him to watch his All-Stars performance. Tonight, Tom delivered his interpretation of Radiohead’s “Creep,” and from the first phrase, I got chills. This was a show-winning performance, and I hope that he has a chance to get a recording contract! A+
If I could take an act out of the competition, it would bring Aidan McCann. His magic act was too juvenile, and I would have replaced him with either Dustin Tavella or Eric Chien. F
I am going to be blunt. The Bello Sisters did not deserve to be in the AGT: All-Stars finale. Their talent is not at the same level as Terry Fator or Jeanick Fournier. I found them boring and would have buzzed them. F
Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer act, comedian Mike E. Winfield, returned to the stage with one goal…win the show! Mike spoke about his family and how “Stepman” and he bonded over the child support check. He also “criticized” his mom for thinking of him as “Jesus.” His latest set made me smile and howl with laughter! A-
Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer act, Light Balance Kids, hoped to rise to their predecessors’ legacy. Tonight, they took us to a horror fantasy that included “Somebody’s Watchin’ Me.” The graphics and choreography were outstanding, and I was utterly blown away! Well done, Light Balance Kids! A
Saxophonist Avery Dixon was Terry Crews’ second Golden Buzzer act to perform. The Season 17 fan favorite returned to the stage with his band to cover Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September,” one of my all-time favorite songs! I got chills from the first note and danced in my seat! It was a pure delight! A+
Kodi Lee is one of the most incredible acts to grace the AGT stage. Tonight, he delivered his interpretation of David Bowie’s “Heroes,” and I immediately got chills. Kodi took the classic rock song and made it his own. He is truly one of my top picks to win this season. Bravo, Kodi! A+
Aerialist Aidan Bryant had the opportunity to close the show. The AGT: Season 16 Runner-Up may have outlasted his season’s winner, Dustin Tavella, but he had an uphill battle after several outstanding performances from his competition. He dedicated his performance to his late grandmother, who recently passed away. This performance was one of the most dangerous aerial routines I have seen on the show, but there was a lot of elegance in this performance and I believe that this routine could make Aidan a member of the AGT Winners Circle! A+
Next week, Adam Lambert, Lindsey Stirling & Terry Fator join the festivities as the first AGT: All-Stars winner will be crowned!
