I have been watching America’s Got Talent for years!
But last night’s Semi-Final was probably my least favorite because a majority of this season’s fan-favorite acts fell to the pressure of the Semi-Finals and only a few of the acts delivered with magnificent results!
Did your favorites make it to the Top 12? Which fan-favorite acts were eliminated from the competition? Who is Howard Stern’s Wild Card selection? Read on to find out…
After the recap and some behind the scenes footage, the audience exploded as One Direction previewed their act and upcoming film. But before Simon Cowell’s favorite adopted sons took the stage, Blake Shelton’s honorary daughter and The Voice: Season Three winner Cassadee Pope took the stage and rocked it with her new single.
The first result of the night involved Innovative Force, Red Panda and Tone the Chiefrocca. The ladies of Farmington, Missouri squealed for joy as Nick read off their name. As the ladies scrambled off the stage, it was Forte, Duo Resonance and Jonathan Allen’s turn to learn their fates. As predicted, Forte won the second spot in the night. Howie told them that were going to win but Howard warned him to stop telling that to every act.
The next group included comedians Angela Hoover and Taylor Williamson plus magician Collins Key. Collins was the next act to make it through to the Top 12. Before Nick read the result, the crowd went wild and chanted Taylor’s name. The Radio City Hall audience went ballistic when their wish came through. After Heidi revealed that she was a Taylord, Howard commended him on his character and material.
Did you deaf for five minutes? Well that’s because One Direction hit the stage and the thousands of teenage girls and cougars were screaming all throughout their set.
As soon as the band left the stage, it was time to get back to business. The remaining acts were singers Dave Fenley and Cami Bradley plus dance troupe Catapult Entertainment. One act would be sent through to the Top 12 and the judges will send through one-act. Singer Cami Bradley was the final act voted through by America.
That left singer Dave Fenley and Catapult Entertainment’s fates to be decided by the judges. Mel B immediately gravitated towards Dave. The King of All Media stated that the show needed Catapult to stay on. Heidi sided with Howard and voted through Catapult. Howie ended the night with the final vote. While he said Dave was talented, he thought about the show, the $1,000,000 prize and Radio City Music Hall and formed the majority vote sending Catapult Entertainment into the Top 12.
Next week, several more acts including Timber Brown, the Chicago Boyz, Kenichi Ebina, the American Military Spouses Choir, the KriStef Brothers and Howard’s Wild Card pick: Leon Etienne and Romy Low will return for a chance to go into the Top 12!
