America’s Got Talent (AGT): Season 18 is entering its home stretch! Tonight, a final set of performers returned to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to earn two (or maybe three spots) in the Season 18 finale! Which acts proved they were ready to join acts such as Anna DeGuzman, the Mzansi Youth Choir, and Putri Ariani in the Season 18 finale? Did anyone receive a buzzer from the judges (Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum)? Read on to find out!
After Simon drove his KIA to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, it was time to get to business! Mariachi singer Eduardo Antonio Trevino kicked off the evening, and it was all about song choice for him. With Putri, Lavender, and Mzansi Youth Choir into the final, and both Gabriel and Lachune had to deliver a great vocal. He chose Coco’s “Remember Me” for his chance to advance to the AGT finale. While I did not appreciate the A Cappella opening, Eduardo has a bright future. B+
Aerialist and hula hoop artist Grace Good came to AGT to break into Las Vegas. She asked her social media followers what they would like to see in her next performance, and overwhelmingly, they wanted to see a fire element. Grace is a strong performer, and my jaw dropped when she performed with a fiery hula-hoop and barbell. I could see Grace being a part of a Vegas ensemble in the future. A-
Lachuné was in the same boat as Eduardo and Gabriel. The South Carolina native tackled Tina Turner’s “The Best,” I loved the arrangement. She has a velvet voice and gave me the night’s first set of goosebumps. A
Dancer Eseniia Mikheeva is cute, but I don’t see her in Vegas. I see her as a part of Nickelodeon, NBCUniversal, and Netflix. She is talented but not $1 million worthy. C
I am so happy that Mandy Muden made it to the AGT: Season 18 Live Qualifiers. I loved Mandy’s entrance and her charm. She incorporated Terry into her act as the world’s most expensive assistant, and Mandy asked the judges to pull out a color from her handbag. Her set made me laugh, and I was awed by her performance. A
Japanese dance troupe Avantgardey made me smile during their audition, and they have made new friends with their fellow competitors. Tonight, Avantgardey danced to another Japanese song. Their choreography blew me away, and this group has a bright future in the entertainment industry. A+
Country music duo Trailer Flowers decided to perform another original, which could have been a lot better. I felt the women’s vocals were flat, and I would have buzzed them. F
I have been waiting for the Ramadhani Brothers to return to compete on the AGT: Season 18 Live Shows. After seeing their rehearsal footage, I was a little nervous for them as they nearly had a disaster, and one of them missed a step. During their performance, I had to stop my jaw from dropping each time the duo executed their stunts. One of the most terrifying performances I have ever seen in show history! A+
Sofia Vergara’s Golden Buzzer act, Gabriel Henrique, took the stage. The Brazilian performer came from a musical family and decided not to sing a diva song but sang one that showcased him as an artist – Jacob Banks’ “Something Beautiful.” While I did not recognize the track, I loved his vocals, which gave me the second set of chills of the evening! A+
South Korean magician Sangsoon Kim was inspired to pursue magic after seeing Criss Angel perform. He wanted to make it to Vegas – the magic capital of the world. I love Sangsoon, but the problem is that he followed a lot of A-plus performances, and his act bored me tonight. C-
The 82nd Airborne Chorus closed out the night. I loved their audition, and tonight, they tackled P!nk’s “I Am Here.” They gave me instant goosebumps, and the soldiers made me smile. It was an incredible and inspiring performance. B
Tomorrow night, Reba & her Season 11 Golden Buzzer act, Sofie Dossi, will perform & the final three finalists will be revealed!
