It’s the most wonderful time of the year! America’s Got Talent (AGT) is back on the NBC airwaves for SEASON 19!

The long-running talent competition returned to search for the next best thing in the entertainment world tonight. Which acts began the journey to join the likes of Terry Fator, Kenichi Ebina, Darci Lynne, Kodi Lee, Brandon Leake, Dustin Tavella, and the Mayyas in the Winners’ Circle? Did host Terry Crews or judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum press the Golden Buzzer and award acts spots in the Season 19 Live Qualifiers? Read on to find out!

Before we get into the recap, make sure that you check out my Top 30 Golden Buzzer moments of All-Time

After watching the Season 19 sizzle wheel, which included multiple Golden Buzzers and high-flying stunts, the acts and judges arrived at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to begin filming the Judges’ Auditions. The Los Osos High School dance team fans screamed as they walked onto the stage. If they win the show, the team hopes to expand the school’s dance department and add a new rehearsal room. The troupe performed a rousing routine to Usher’s “OMG” & “Yeah.” Many dancers were on the stage, and my jaw dropped as they filled up the Pasadena Civic Auditorium aisles. Simon gave them a standing ovation, and Heidi wanted them to raise the bar on their choreography, and Howie concurred and voted “No.” Heidi changed her mind and joined Simon and Sofia in voting them into the next round.

2-year-old Baby Dev made AGT history when he auditioned for the NBC talent competition. Baby Dev’s father onstage asked Howie to give them two one-digit numbers, which the veteran judge stated: “seven” and “nine.” Baby Dev correctly noted that the answer to the multiplication problem was 63. My jaw dropped when he said that answer.  After saying hi to Heidi and Sofia, both women gave them two digit numbers – “44” and “13” and made my jaw drop when he stated the solution for an addition problem: “57.” Simon chose “79” and “seven” for the finale for a multiplication problem. The progidy correctly answered 553 and received a four-judge standing ovation.  Sofia noted that Baby Dev’s audition was “one of the most fascinating things” she had ever seen on AGT. She joined her judges and voted for Baby Dev to advance to the next round.

Sam Huang traveled from Taiwan to audition for the show. The magician did close-up magic for the judges, and my jaw dropped when he removed and regrew his fingers from his hand. I was also impressed as a silver ring jumped from finger to finger. Howie and Simon gave him a standing ovation, and he received the second unanimous “Yes” of the season!

Daisy May and Clifford became the first animal act of the season and hoped to inherit Adrian and Hurricane’s crown. Frankly, I wanted to buzz them. They became the first act to receive a unanimous “No” of the season.

As Simon tried to smooth things are over with the dogs, Learnmore Jonansi made his way to the AGT: Season 19 Judges Auditions. It was cool to learn that Learnmore is a massive Terry Crews fan and I loved his pre-performance interaction with the veteran host. The Zimbabwe-based stand-up comedian is an incredible storyteller and I loved his material as I could not stop laughing. He received a four judge standing ovation and had the entire audience on its feet. Heidi loved his spirit, while Simon declared him one of the most funniest people that they have had over the years. Before the vote, Terry Crews awarded Learnmore his Golden Buzzer! Learnmore became the first comedian since Drew Lynch to earn a Golden Buzzer on the main show!

We have had dance and danger acts on AGT, but rarely together. Ballerina Ashlee Montague attempted to do the impossible and balanced on top of a set of wine bottles while she was 15 feet in the air. Sometimes, she was so close to falling, but Ashlee successfully crossed it. An emotional Ashlee high-fived Terry before she faced the judge and earned high praise from Simon, who despises opera and ballet. Ashlee received the latest set of FOUR YESES!

26-year-old Reyna Roberts has lived across the USA and currently live in Nashville and was inspired by Chapel Hart and Drake Milligan to audition for the show. She sang an original song, “Raised Right,” which she wrote after watching a Star Wars film. I loved the song and bobbed my head throughout the performance. She has a bright future in the music industry and I hope that she goes far in the competition. Simon gave her a standing ovation, but Howie did not like the song and voted “No.” However, Simon and the ladies gave her three Yeses.

As Simon praised Reyna and her band backstage, 13-year-old Arshiya traveled all the way from India to audition for the show. She went backstage and transformed into this terrifying performer. It felt like I was watching the 2020s version of The Exorcist and I would have buzzed. However, all four judges stood up and gave her a standing ovation. Heidi declared her one of the best controtionists the show has ever seen. She received four yeses from the judges.

Chris Iwan has been chasing his dreams since he was a kid. He was trying to break a Guinness World Record for most human targets hit with toilet plungers. He had 60 seconds and he was unsucessful and all four judges buzzed.

Chris Iwan has been chasing his dreams since he was a kid. He was trying to break a Guinness World Record for most human targets hit with toilet plungers. He had 60 seconds and he was unsucessful and all four judges buzzed. Then, it got worse as one act that I was annoyed to see audition for AGT is BGT alum and joke act Tonikaku. His stupid act of performing around in his underwear earned him a Wild Card spot in the Series 16 final. He continued to deliver his usual shenangans of posing, which the only thing that was enjoyable was watching Simon lose his mind. Both Simon and Howie gave him a standing ovation and surprisingly all three judges who haven’t seen him before were very receptive. He received the first set of 4,000 Yeses this season.Richard Goodhall was the final performer of the Season 19 Judges’ Auditions. He is a janitor at a middle school in his hometown of Terre Haute, Indiana. His kids loved his talent and wanted him to showcase it on the world’s biggest stage. Richard fought off the nerves and sang Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” I got goosebumps from his voice and I know that both Steve Perry, Arnel Pineda, and the rest of the Journey family would be so proud of him. One of the best auditions I have seen so far this decade. I am so happy that Heidi gave him one of her Golden Buzzers!

Next week, the AGT: Season 19 Judges’ Auditions continue!
