After months of auditions, 13 Golden Buzzers, and surprising eliminations (wish you were still here, Ashes and Arrows, Liv Warfield, Sabrina, and Young Min), 10 acts have made it to the America’s Got Talent (AGT): Season 19 finals! Which act delivered an epic performance? Did any of the judges (Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum) buzz an act? Who might potentially join Bianca Ryan, Terry Fator, Kodi Lee, Dustin Tavella, and the Mayyas in the AGT’s Winners Circle? Read on to find out!
Hakuna Matata Acrobats is Sofia Vergara’s last Golden Buzzer standing! The Tanzanian-based quartet received the show’s first live Golden Buzzer during the first Quarterfinals. They decided to reprise their audition by adding more height, and most wore blindfolds in the performance’s first half. They delivered a jaw-dropping conclusion using a lift on the stage and performing up close at the Judges’ Desk. The performance was electrifying!! A
After Howie recruited David Alan Grier to prank the AGT judges, it was DeeDee Simon’s turn to impress America. She received Heidi’s live Golden Buzzer during the third quarterfinals week! The Oakland prison nurse tackled Hozier’s “Take Me to Church,” a song that earned Season 10 semifinalist Sharon Irving, Mel B’s Golden Buzzer. DeeDee took the Pasadena Civic Auditiorium audience to church and delivered a vocal touchdown. A-
Before Sebastian and Sonia stepped onto the stage, The Voice host Carson Daly had a pec pop battle with Terry as he previewed Snoop and Michael Buble, who will perform on the show next week as coaches. Simon Cowell’s final Golden Buzzer act, Sebastian and Sonia, had much to prove tonight. Due to an injury, Sonia sat from the sidelines during the fourth quarterfinal as Sebastian delivered a fiery routine that sent them to the Season 19 finale. The duo performed their routine as U2’s “With or Without You” played in the background. While Sebastian did most of the heavylifting in the first half, Sonia joined him as they performed an aerial lift at the Judges’ Desk. I would have buzzed. This performance was boring. D+
Howie Mandel’s first Golden Buzzer act, Brent Street, made it to the AGT: Season 19 finale! The Australian dance troupe once again delivered a fantastic routine to an intriguing cover of Mr. Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River.” This performance had everything I wanted to see from them, and their electrifying choreography once again blew a roof in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium roof! A+
Solange is one of the only two acts that did not receive a Golden Buzzer. Tonight, she joined Lea Kyle as the second quick change magician to make it to a Simon Cowell AGT finale. I loved that Solange used a Barbie doll as a model and one of Chappell Roan’s songs as her background. It was a solid performance, and I was impressed that she had stepped up to the plate. B+
Terry Crews’ Golden Buzzer act, Learnmore Jonasi, is one of the AGT: Season 19 standout acts. Tonight, he hoped to make history and become the comedian who finally won the long-running NBC talent competition. His set featured jokes about looking for suspicious items at JFK Airport, how Africans show affection, and his lazy eye. No matter what happens next week, Learnmore Jonasi has a bright future ahead of him in the comedy world! B+
AIRFOOTWORKS received Howie Mandel’s live Golden Buzzer during the second quarterfinal round. AGT: Season Eight champion Kenichi Ebina mentored the quartet; tonight, AIRFOOTWORKS transported us to a Neon Tokyo world. My jaw dropped so many times during the performance, and just like their Australian rivals, I thought their performance was perfect! They could make history next week if they join their mentor in the Winners’ Circle. A+
Heidi Klum’s First Golden Buzzer Act, Richard Goodall, has been a frontrunner since he sang Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” on the AGT: Season 19 Judges’ Auditions. I loved that the West Vigo community supported him before his performance and that Neal Schon will be performing with him at the Season 19 finale. Tonight, he tackled “Faithfully,” and once again, Richard gave me chills. Bravo, Richard! A+
Dog act Roni Sagi & Rhythm have become the second animal act in two years to make an AGT final. While I have not been a massive fan of animal acts on this show, Roni and Rhythm have surpassed my expectations this season, and I loved their contemporary routine. They brilliantly represented animal acts and their home country of Israel. I hope they continue inspiring fans after Terry Crews gives his final farewell next week. B+
Simon Cowell’s second Golden Buzzer act, Sky Elements, closed out the night. The Dallas, Texas-based drone performance group has elevated the art form and raised the bar for future drone acts to come. Tonight’s performance centered on the American Dream and P!nk’s cover of “A Million Dreams” perfectly accompanied it. I got chills watching this performance and they inspired the country! I hope that they are one of the final acts left standing. A+
Next week, the AGT: Season 19 WINNER Will Be Revealed!
