America’s Got Talent’s Season Eight auditions are done!
Who received the final spots for the Las Vegas Callbacks?
Read on to find out…
The Mestizo Ballet Folklorico was the first act of the night. While they were cute, they were carrying machetes around (although little Mateo was carrying butter knives). While their act grabbed the audience’s attention, it seemed like they could be eaten alive by both the Vegas stage and Radio City Music Hall. Despite that fact, all four judges gave them passes to the Callbacks, while Scary Spice rushed the stage to give Mateo a hug.
Acrobatic entertainer Timber Brown hoped for a spot at the Vegas Callbacks. When he got on the Los Angeles stage, Mel B was excited to see him because she remembered him because he worked with her in Las Vegas. Because Mel knew him, she could not vote and Timber needed at least two “Yeses” to go to the next round. Timber’s incredible showmanship shined, as he showed off dangerous stunts that brought the house to its feet. While Timber was disappointed that he did not execute it the way he wanted it too, Howie stated that it was flawless. Timber received three Yeses to return to Las Vegas.
14-year-old Skilyr Hicks fought her nerves as she delivered an incredible original song. She showcased so much talent and has a powerful voice. Heidi stated that Skilyr is a beautiful girl and won all of their hearts. Mel B added that Skilyr’s tone sounded more mature than any 14-year-old girl that she has seen. Skilyr received a spot in the Las Vegas round.
21-year-old electrician Milton Patton stole the show when he sang a cover of Willie Nelson’s “Whiskey River.” His vocals were stunning and he gave me goose bumps. Mel B stated that his voice was unique and saw a superstar within him. Howie added that Milton was a “diamond in the rough.” He received four Yeses from the judges.
The final audition of the season belonged to 63-year-old Howard Stern fan Jetta, who actually covered Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff.” While she screeched the song and ticked off the judges, Howard would have sent her through.
Next week, the Las Vegas rounds begin! Who will survive the pressures that this round brings to the contestants!
