This is it!
After seven weeks of competitions, five Golden Buzzer, and three guest judges, it is time to crown the America’s Got Talent (AGT): Season 15 Champion! Last night, the ten finalists faced off for America’s votes.
Which act walked away with the $1,000,000 grand prize? Who joined Bianca Ryan, Terry Fator, Kenichi Ebina, Mat Franco, Grace VanderWaal, Darci Lynn, Shin Lim, and Kodi Lee in the Champions’ Circle? Read on to find out!
Usher kicked off the night with a medley of his hits that incorporated all three judges, Terry Crews, and even a DeLorean. As Usher exited the stage, it was time for a recap of the Season 15 final performances. It was great seeing Bad Salsa’s explosive routine, Brandon Leake’s tribute to his daughter, and Cristina Rae’s powerful rendition of Imagine Dragons’ “Demons” one more time.
OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder and Cristina Rae teamed up for an electric cover of “Lose Somebody.” I got chills from the duet. Up next, the finalists delivered a pre-recorded performance of the late Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me.” I am glad that Brandon Leake also added an extra verse for the collaboration.
The Bello Sisters performed with Bishop Briggs for their finale performance. As Bishop performed in Los Angeles, the Bello Sisters worked their magic in Germany. However, the best moment was when Alan Silva performed with his brother, Deadly Games’ Alfredo. Those stunts left me on the edge of my seat.
Archie Williams had the honor of performing with Pastor Marvin Winans. Archie revealed that it was Pastor Winans’ music helped him heal during prison. The duo performed Pastor Winans’ “Just Don’t Wanna Know.” It was a beautiful moment and one of my favorite duet performances of AGT’s past five seasons. He also received a special message from Meghan, Dutchess of Sussex.
Next, Daneliya Tuleshova performed “Kings & Queens” with Ava Max. Their vocals beautifully went well together, and even Ava stated that Daneliya had a bright future ahead of her.
Last year, the Detroit Youth Choir took the competition by storm. After receiving a $1 million grant from the city and a key to the city, the group performed Imagine Dragons’ “Believer.” I could tell that the group grew stronger vocally. Meanwhile, Terry, Heidi, and Sofia decided to trick Howie in putting on a costume to promote Peacock, NBC’s free streaming service.
Broken Roots revisited “God’s Country” with the song’s original artist: Voice coach Blake Shelton. This trio delivered a fiery rendition that made me smile and dance. After the performance, the finalists’ loved ones paid homage to the contestants to Dolly Parton’s “Here I Am.” Finally, Terry announced that the Final Two would have the opportunity walk away with new cars from Kia.
Two of AGT’s best dance acts came together for one explosive collaboration. Season 14 finalists and America’s Got Talent: The Champions-Season Two winners V.Unbeatable joined forces with BAD Salsa for one epic routine. I got chills from watching both of these acts come together. It was one of the highlights of the evening.
After Terry received magic lessons from Mat Franco, Roberta Battaglia and Kenadi Dodds teamed up with Julia Michaels and JP Saxe for the Finneas-produced track: “If the World Was Ending.” I believe that Roberta Battaglia reminded me of watching a young Ariana Grande at Mix 93.3’s Red, White & Boom.
Now it was time to get down to business. The show went live to Universal Studios Hollywood gate entrance to receive the results. Brandon Leake gave a poignant tribute to the season and then Terry revealed the results.
The Final Five of AGT: Season 15 were Alan Silva, Cristina Rae, Broken Roots, Roberta Battaglia, and Brandon Leake.
In Fifth Place: Alan Silva!
In Fourth Place: Roberta Battaglia (Sofia Vergara’s Golden Buzzer)
In Third Place: Cristina Rae (Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer)–I was in shock with this result.
Now it was down between Broken Roots and Brandon Leake.
The winner of America’s Got Talent: Season 15 was BRANDON LEAKE!
