Hello everyone!

Our favorite DJ has had a busy January.

This new feature will recap some of DJ Ashton Martin’s greatest hits of the month and preview what he has in store for his fans next….

January 2013 Highlights

Zócalo success

Ashton continues to take Zócalo to new heights during his weekly set at the Plaza Mexican restaurant.    While you dine on some of Zócalo’s amazing appetizers and entrees, Ashton will deliver some of the hottest mixes featuring some classic dance songs combined with Today’s Top 40 hits.

Super Sports Saturdays at the Well

Are you worried that you are going to miss the big games of the week?  The Well in the history Waldo district has over 28 TVs plus two outdoor areas that include a lower level patio and a rooftop deck.   After you celebrate or commiserate your team’s victory or defeat, you can catch Ashton spin your favorites on the Well’s stage.

Ashton invaded Baltimore

Ashton’s first road trip of 2013 took him to Baltimore, Maryland where he played at the original Mosaic.  Ashton’s appearance lead to reunion of sorts as several former Kansas Citians caught his set.   Currently, he continues to make monthly appearances at the Kansas City Mosaic.

DJ Battle II

The Second Annual DJ Battle was a success as eight top DJs (DJ TIP, DJ Mikey Mike, DJ Parle, DJ Nas, DJ Vinyl Richy, Geefer Sutherland, DJ Johnny Styles and DJ Ray Pena) of the area tried to not only impress Ashton and his fellow judges: Brian Collins and Brandon “DJ Highnoone” Noone but dozens of audience members.   After eight seven-minute sets, DJ Vinyl Richy walked away with the top prize.

Due to the success of this event, in conjunction with event planning company KC Connect and the unanticipated attention of the Rane Corporation, The Annual DJ Battle has evolved into the Semi-Annual DJ Battle and will be back this summer with major sponsor: the Rane Corporation

What’s Ahead in February….

Red Vinyl

All throughout February, Ashton will be showing his support for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign by using red vinyl at all of his shows.

Road Trip II

Ashton’s second road trip takes him to Minneapolis for the Annual Broken Hearts-Broken Records party on February 16. He will be sharing spinning duties with his former student DJ Str8Reppin.

Spinning with Ashton

The University of Kansas Medical Center and the Woodside Health and Tennis Club are teaming up for a special spinning class that will benefit the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign.   Ashton will be DJing alongside spin instructors at the Woodside Health and Tennis Club for that members-only class on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m.
