DJ Ashton Martin had an incredible summer!
He played 109 shows across the Kansas City Metro Area and traveled across the country to play several gigs in Arizona!
So as summer winds down, here are some of Ashton’s highlights from Summer 2013!
June 2013:
Gusto Wednesdays: In June, Ashton started playing at the Gusto Lounge in Westport. His set, “Brand New, You’re Retro,” sends Gusto patrons back in time as Ashton plays everything from classic hip-hop and funk music to classic house!
Fridays at Aura: Ashton always likes to energize a crowd and this summer, he joined the Aura family and successfully inserted new energy into the club through his open-format sets.
Grooveasana: On Sunday, June 16, our favorite DJ teamed up with Lululemon for a late night yoga class at the Power and Light District in downtown Kansas City. While Sharon Prothe and Angie Eckenroth lead the crowd in yoga, Ashton spun some hot tunes from the Kansas City Power & Light stage that accompanied the group with their exercise.
July 2013:
Young Friends of Art (YFA) Gala: For the second year in the row, Ashton provided the tunes for the YFA Gala at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s Breezeway. This was fantastic sold out event and Ashton himself stated that he had fantastic time!
Dept. Zero 10th Anniversary Party: Another huge event that Ashton spun at was the Dept. Zero 10th Anniversary Party. Partygoers danced the night away as they celebrated the company’s ten successful years!
Ashton gets Major League Action: When the 2013 Major League Soccer (MLS) All-Star came to town, DJ Ashton Martin was on the entertainment frontlines. He spun at the organization’s official gala and it was a huge success!
Saturdays at Woodside Pool: In between all of these big events, our favorite DJ spent his Saturdays spinning the hottest tunes at the newly renovated Woodside Pool.
August 2013:
Ashton’s Arizona Adventure: Earlier this month, Ashton traveled to Scottsdale, Arizona for a massive trip! He played at multiple clubs including the area’s top celebrated clubs: Smash Boxx, Wild Knight and the Spanish Fly Mexican Beach Club. Ashton wanted to thank all of the clubs for giving him these incredible opportunities.
OverKC Launch Party: Ashton played at the OverKC Launch Party at the Midland by AMC. OverKC is a new Internet site that will allow people coming to or living in Kansas City to grab multiple deals on their favorite restaurants, bars and shops. Users can also write comments and reviews plus enter contests for prizes and OverCities bucks!
Sol MGMT Takeover: Ashton traveled to Wichita to play at Club Indigo with five of his colleagues: DJ Highnoone, DJ Vinyl Richy, DJ Mada from Denver, DJ Pri Yon Joni from Des Moines and DJ Justin Fresh from NYC! It was an excellent event filled with non-stop back-to-back music!
The Rivalry Run: On Saturday, August 17, an old rivalry was reignited! Kansans tackled Missourians in a winner take all run that benefited the Domestic Violence Protection Services Agency (DVPSA). The race started in the Power & Light District and took runners across downtown Kansas City with stops at Crown Center, the Liberty Memorial and Union Station. At the finish line, our favorite DJ kept on spinning tunes to encourage participants to finish the race!
