The Masked Singer is returning for its fifth season next week! Jake’s Take has covered this FOX performance-based competition since its pilot episode. As a new group of performers prepares to enter the stage, here are the 16 Masked Singer performances that I believe are part of the show’s hall of fame.
#16-Peacock (Donny Osmond): “The Greatest Show (Season One)
The show’s production team had the Peacock be the first Masked Singer to start the series. The Peacock brought a Vegas-style show every single time he took the stage. Without showbiz legend Donny Osmond’s spectacular first performance, the show would not be entering its fifth season.
#15-Black Widow (Raven-Symone): “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” (Season Two)
Black Widow was one of my favorite masked performers that took the stage by storm. Of all of Raven’s excellent performances on the show, it was her beautiful tribute to Whitney Houston that made me smile and dance!
#14-Miss Monster (Chaka Khan): “Something to Talk About” (Season Three)
I knew Miss Monster was music legend Chaka Khan from the first few notes of “Something to Talk About.” In addition to her fantastic vocal performance, a cameo from the show’s original winner – The Monster, was the icing on the cake.
#13-Astronaut (Hunter Hayes): “Story of My Life” (Season Three)
Country music star Hunter Hayes was one of the few masked performers I was able to identify immediately when he took the stage as the Astronaut. For his final feat on the show, Hunter delivered an outstanding cover of One Direction’s “Story of My Life.”
#12-Raven (Ricki Lake): “Rainbow (Kesha)” (Season One)
One of the show’s first emotional performances was Raven’s goose-bump-inducing cover of Kesha’s “Rainbow.” The Emmy-winning talk show host gave viewers chills during the show’s second week of competition. Sadly, Raven was unmasked four weeks later.
#11-The Snow Owls (Clint Black & Lisa Hartman Black): “Say Something” (Season Four)
The Snow Owls became The Masked Singer’s first duo. The legendary country music power couple delivered a stunning performance of A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera’s haunting cover of “Say Something” and set the standard for future duos.
#10-Popcorn (Taylor Dayne): “Better Be Good to Me” (Season Four) Countless fans were shocked to see the Popcorn unmask before the Season Four finale. However, the “Tell It to My Heart” singer-songwriter delivered a bombastic performance that showcased her passion for performing with a save-me performance the fans will never forget!
#9-Night Angel (Kandi Burruss): “Million Reasons” (Season Three)
The Season Three winner began her dominance on The Masked Singer’s stage was her performance of Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons.” Night Angel(Kandi)’s powerful vocals cemented her place in the competition and gave the audience chills.
