Jake’s Take is proud to welcome back friend to the blog: Kent Speakman.

The Los Angeles-based entrepreneur’s latest venture, Torio.TV is going to help football fans celebrate Super Bowl 50 in a huge way: live streaming at one of the Super Bowl weekend’s biggest pre-parties: Maxim & Bootsy Bellows Big Game Kick-Off Party.  Also, for the first time in Super Bowl weekend history, Torio.TV will bring viewers inside the celebrity-only parties where they will be able to see behind the scenes and participate in a live auction where they can bid on top sports memorabilia such as Muhammad Ali’s gloves and a Vince Lombardi trophy.  All proceeds from the silent auction will go to the Merging Vets + Players Organization.  Torio.TV will also treat music enthusiasts to a special performance by A$AP Rocky, with a cameo appearance by Lil Wayne, and three DJ sets from William Lifestyle, Devin Lucien and Balthazar Getty at the Maxim & Bootsy Bellows party.

In this edition of Catching Up, the Torio.TV producer and partner talked about how Torio.TV stands out from its competitors in the streaming industry and reveals how viewers can interact with Torio.TV on social media.

Jacob Elyachar: Could you describe Torio.TV to my readers?

Kent Speakman: Torio.TV brings the world ’s most talked about events to the viewers’ fingertips with live, HD streaming to their mobile/desktop devices and connected TVs. Torio TV expands otherwise local events by turning them into global television experiences with worldwide accessibility at the touch of a button. So, imagine attending a blockbuster movie premiere in Los Angeles from your couch in New York, or viewing the runway at Milan Fashion Week, while waiting for your flight to Shanghai.

JE: What makes Torio.TV stand out against its competitors in the streaming market?

KS: We are giving our viewers a live broadcast “Oscars” level of production value from very exclusive events that they would normally only get a glimpse into from recap videos that would normally be seen the next day.

JE: How did the idea of live streaming Super Bowl weekend events come about? What parties will be streamed?

KS: We started Torio in collaboration with Katapy where we began by helping charities live broadcast their fundraisers and galas to help raise awareness for causes that we believe in. We have helped organizations like Hidden Tears Project, Saving Innocence, Homeless Rockstars & the United Way. From there it has blossomed into what it is today. We are live broadcasting the Maxim & Bootsy Bellows event on Saturday at 8 PST. We are also benefiting Jay Glazers MVP (Merging Vets with Players) charity and have created a live auction platform shop.torio.tv to let viewers at home bid on items that will be available to the attendees of the events. Its pretty exciting.

JE: Will social media play a significant role in the live stream? How can my readers follow along?

KS: Social Media is a big part of what we are doing, and we have some great hosts on camera, Lindsay McCormick, Rebecca Grant and Melanie Marden who will all be inviting their audiences to tune in on www.Torio.TV or our Roku channel.  Also, we will be publishing updates on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter.

JE: Why should my readers use Torio.TV?

KS: We are giving everyone access to super exclusive and invitation-only celebrity-packed events. Events that not everyone can attend in real life. Instead, they get to experience the event from the comfort of their home, be it in Oklahoma, or Tokyo. Everyone loves watching the red carpet arrivals at some of Hollywood’s biggest award ceremonies: it’s just like that!
