Jacob Elyachar: When did you get interested in music? How did that passion evolve into the desire to pursue a career in the entertainment industry?
D. Muñoz: I first started getting into the music industry around 15 years old… I was in a group chat with my friends, and I sent a voice memo of me singing, and they told me I was pretty good… They told me I should pursue it, and from then, I went on to post my first cover… It evolved into a passion because I slowly started to fall in love with the idea that I could say how I felt through music.
Jacob Elyachar: Could you describe your songwriting style to my readers?
D. Muñoz: My songwriting style is very vulnerable and straight forward.
Jacob Elyachar: What are the challenges that you faced throughout your career? How did you overcome those obstacles?
D. Muñoz: Trying to keep my patience… That was tough. I realized that you could not rush greatness.. that you cannot rush something you want to last forever.
Jacob Elyachar: Let’s talk about your debut EP: Moments. What were some of the highlights from your time in the recording studio?
D. Muñoz: I remember going into the booth and freestyling my single “Typa luv”… I was going through something at the moment, so when I got in the booth, everything just came out… It was like magic.
Jacob Elyachar: You will join Ally Brooke for six shows on her Time to Shine Tour. What can fans expect from your set?
D. Muñoz: Fans can expect high energy and just a good time! I love to vibe out and connect with fans.
Jacob Elyachar: If you had the chance to meet with aspiring singer-songwriters who want to elevate their careers, what advice would you share with them?
D. Muñoz: Work on your craft. Stay consistent, and never lose faith in what you are doing. The results do not come overnight!
