Two of my favorite music acts that appeared on America’s Got Talent are William Close and the Earth Harp Collective (Season Seven) and Emily West (Season Nine).
Tonight, they came home just in time as host Nick Cannon revealed the results of America’s votes.
Did your favorites make it? Which acts were on the chopping block and needed either the Dunkin’ Save or the Judges’ Save to move on to the semi-finals? Read on to find out!
After a recap of last night’s performances (which included a lot of behind the scenes footage including Mel B teaching Howie “Snap!”), it was time for Nick to reveal which acts were up for the Dunkin’ Save. The three acts that were in sixth, seventh and eighth place this week and were in danger of being eliminated were Ira, 3 Shades of Blue and Freckled Sky.
While everyone was going to Google, Nick briefly caught up with both Emily West and William Close and Heidi Klum crashed the Dunkin ‘ Donuts Lounge party. However as Nick put it, the party was over and the results were revealed. Uzeyer Novruzov and Arielle Baril received the first two slots in the Semi-Finals.
Howie, Heidi and Mel B took time out of their schedules to surprise guests at Madame Tussard’s in New York. I loved seeing them surprise their visitors with their photo opportunities. As Howie collapsed to the ground, Emily West and William Close took to the stage to perform a special rendition of “Nights in White Satin” that gave me chills.
As the duo left the stage, it was time for Animation Crew, Sharon Irving and the CraigLewis Band to learn their fates. While Animation Crew said their goodbyes, both CraigLewis Band and Sharon Irving breathed a sigh of relief as they learned that they were moving on to the next round! Next, Derek Hughes became the Marty Allen of Season 10 as he wrongly received Myq Kaplan’s spot.
Now, it was time to reveal who received the Dunkin’ Save. It was extremely close as fans were divided between Ira and 3 Shades of Blue. Ira received the Dunkin’ Save, which left both Freckled Sky and 3 Shades of Blue’s fates up to the judges. Mel B kicked off the voting by voting for 3 Shades of Blue. Howie decided to side with 3 Shades of Blue. Howard (a champion of both acts) decided to choose 3 Shades of Blue over Freckled Sky.
Next week, the Quarterfinals conclude as remaining acts such as Alicia Michilli, Benjamin Yonattan, Gary Vider, Oz Pearlman and Stevie Starr make their cases for a spot in this year’s semi-finals!
