Since Once Upon A Time (OUAT)’s third season, fans have been falling head over heels for Captain Swan.
For those new to the OUAT universe, Captain Swan is the ship name for Emma Swan and Captain Killian “Hook” Jones. Their relationship had their ups and downs from his brief partnership with Cora during the show’s sophomore season to the Dark Swan saga during the first half of the season. But overall, Emma and Hook love each other and Ms. Swan went to depths of hell to save him from Hades.
However, with Hook’s old foe, the Crocodile (also known as Mr. Gold) working for the Lord of the Underworld against his will (he has to for Belle’s sake) and Cruella de Vil lurking around for revenge, who knows what test fate will throw at them. But, will another face from Hook’s past salvage their relationship or pull them further apart? Read on to find out….
Henry snuck away from his family to assist Cruella on bringing her back to the Land of the Living. Henry found the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, who warned him not to resurrect Cruella. He also reminded Henry that he needed to record and not intervene with history. Henry countered and revealed that he is tired of being in the sidelines. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice revealed the location of a key that would help him find the light magic that was needed to bring the quill back to life.
As Henry got back to Cruella, Emma and Hook received an unexpected visitor: Hook’s departed brother, Liam. Liam stated that he tried to figure out why he was in Underbrooke and how he could move on into the afterlife. He also warned them that there were those who tried to overthrow the Lord of the Underworld and one of them tried to trap the fiery fiend into a book. Emma quickly realized that they might be looking for the Underworld equivalent of Henry’s enchanted storybook and the trio hoped that it might have a chapter on the Lord of the Underworld.
While the Charmings looked the storybook, Liam confronted Emma about not being enough for his brother. He also blamed Emma for Hook being in this predicament. Liam stated that when his brother defeats Hades, he would be able to move on to the next chapter. Henry rejoined the family and fibbed that the Sorcerer’s Apprentice would be able to find the storybook.
Unbeknownst to everyone, Liam received a visit from Hades. The Lord of the Underworld knew about the plan and wanted Liam to destroy his pages containing the way to defeat him. If Liam did not comply to his demands, Hades would tell Hook the truth on why Liam was down in Underbrooke in the first place.
As Liam planned a betrayal, Snow and Charming snuck into James’ office to retrieve a magical key. But, little did they know that Cruella was coming into visit. As Snow hid from the Queen of Darkness, Cruella advanced towards Charming and kissed him. The demented diva asked the heroic Charming if he wanted to try the champagne or make out with her! While Cruella occupied David, Snow gave the key to the Sorcerer’s Mansion to Henry and he summoned his moms and both Jones brothers to the mansion.
Inside the Sorcerer’s Mansion, all five of them went their separate ways. Liam found the book and began looking for Hades’ portion of the book. He ripped the pages out of the book, just like the Lord of the Underworld instructed him to do. Liam thought he could get away with the crime, but Emma’s instincts were onto him and accused him of the deed. This confrontation led to an intense verbal fight between the lovers and made Emma cry.
Unfortunately for Hook, he lost faith in his brother. Captain Silver and his nasty crew appeared to educate the Good Captain about his almighty brother. The wicked captain revealed that Liam made a deal with Hades back in the Enchanted Forest and it rocked Hook’s world. After the pirates captured the brothers, Silver made the brothers walk the plank into the Boiling Sea. Luckily, Hook was able to save his brother and help him escape the Underworld.
With Liam gone from Underbrooke, the Storybrooke gang began to look for the pages that Liam tore out of the Underbrooke counterpart. Little did they know that Hades has the pages in his possession and his past collided with a certain Wicked Witch.
