Last week, Once Upon A Time returned from its winter hiatus with several surprising twists.
Hook was able to revive Emma’s memories and succeeded in convincing the Savior and Henry to return to Storybrooke. Once, she reunited with her parents…Emma discovered that her parents were expecting and that they did not remember any of the events in the Enchanted Forest!
Meanwhile, the Wicked Witch of the West made her presence known as she began to plot her revenge on Regina. What are her plans? Did Emma begin to piece the puzzle together? Read on to find out….
Back in the Enchanted Forest, the Wicked Witch of the West began to examine Regina’s wardrobe and ordered a Flying Monkey to track down her rival. While Snow had a brief reunion with Ruby, the Flying Monkey flew onto the scene in hopes of capturing Regina. With Robin Hood’s beloved son is in the way, Regina was able to save him by transforming the threatening beast into a much cuddlier creature.
As Robin Hood’s son was examining his new toy, Regina and Belle revealed that they were dealing with Oz’s very own Wicked Witch of the West. The Evil Queen told erstwhile Storybrooke residents that she could only break the Witch’s hold on the Dark Palace. Because she saved his child, Robin Hood joined Regina on her quest.
Under the tunnels, they bonded over missing loved ones until they found the entrance to Regina’s crypt. Once they reached Regina’s room, the Evil Queen began to make a sleeping potion for her to drink until her true love (Henry) would rescue her. While she froze Robin Hood and took down the shield, the Wicked Witch of the West confronted her.
After she introduced herself as Zelena, the green-skinned witch revealed that she was Regina’s…half-sister. In addition, both Cora and Rumpelstiltskin also pushed her to the side in favor of the Evil Queen. While Regina stated that both of them were dead, Zelena stated that they did not matter and vowed to destroy her half-sibling. Regina ended the confrontation with “Bring It On, Greenie!”
Back in present day Storybrooke, Leroy warned Hook and the Charmings that several of his brothers went missing. Before they went on the search, Snow and Charming were reacquainted with their grandson. While Snow made up a story about being cellmates with her daughter, Regina was flabbergasted with the sight of Henry.
Emma brought Henry’s adoptive mother back up to speed and began an alliance with her. While they fooled the town with a fake attack, Charming and Hook traveled to the forest where they began a search for the missing dwarves. The search leads them to Robin Hood and his Merry Men, as they were searching for Little John, who was attacked by a Flying Monkey.
Unfortunately, that monkey bit Little John. While the group transported him to Storybrooke’s hospital, Dr. Whale said that Little John was destabilizing and tried to calm him down…but much to their horror, Little John was transformed into a Flying Monkey.
As Little John flew to his new mistress, Regina and Emma staked out the Madam Mayor’s office to catch the culprit who stole everyone’s memories. When the duo opened her office, they confronted a mysterious figure that disappeared in a cloud of green smoke.
Back at Snow and Charming’s apartment, everyone deduced that it was the Wicked Witch of the West that was responsible for taking their memories. While The Wicked Witch is indeed in Storybrooke and currently posing as a mid-wife, she has taken a prisoner…a revitalized Mr. Gold, who is slowly transforming back into his malevolent self.
Next week, Rapunzel makes her OUAT debut as the Wicked Witch of the West continues her quest for revenge!
