Last night, 12 acts took to the Radio City Music Hall stage and delivered a diverse array of performances that either bedazzled the crowd or confused the judges.
But who moved on to the next round? Read on to find out!
After seeing behind the scenes footage of last night’s performance show, Howie Mandel told Nick that they had the best acts that they had ever seen in the history of the show and also controversially said that America got it wrong last week and prayed that they got it right.
Before we got to see if America listened to Howie’s advice, Jason DeRulo took to the stage to perform his latest single: “The Other Side.” During Jason’s performance, it seemed like he borrowed elements from everyone ranging from Usher to former AGT contender Kid the Wiz.
Once Jason exited the stage, it was time to pay tribute to the new judges. Once, the homage to Mel B and Heidi was done, it was time for the first group of acts to learn their fates. David “Cobra Kid” Weathers, illusionist Leon Etienne and Romy Low and Aerosphere had average showings and were eliminated from the competition.
With only nine acts remaining, the American Military Spouses Choir, Brandon and Savannah and Kelsey and Bailey were the next group to learn their fates. The American Military Spouses Choir delivered an emotional performance last night while the latter two were completely boring. The American Military Spouses Choir received the first spot of the night.
The third group of the night was Kenichi Ebina, Jonathan Allen and impressionist Jim Meskimen. All three of them had terrific performances but it was Kenichi that received the second spot. After a quick break, Nick revealed that it was Jonathan Allen that would take the third spot! Heidi was so happy that Jonathan got through that she removed her shoes and had the AGT security team escort her to the stage to give him a hug.
This left singer DeAnna DellaCioppa and two dance teams Chicago Boyz and Mitsi School of Dancing to face the judges’ choice round. DeAnna was eliminated, which made Mel B furious because she was a huge fan of the singer and begged DeAnna to not stop singing.
The judges had to decide between two incredible youth groups. Mel B kicked off the voting by saying that the obvious choice was the Chicago Boyz. The King of All Media added that while both acts were spot on with their precision, he stated that the Chicago Boyz step up every single time and voted them through. The final vote of the night belonged to Howie and he chose to send through…THE CHICAGO BOYZ!
Next week, 12 new acts including the 3Penny Chorus and Orchestra, Aerial Ice, David Ferman, Taylor Williamson and Timber Brown perform for four more spots in the Semi-Finals.
You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I
would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
