Did you know that approximately 200,000 people in the United States will be diagnosed with either a primary or metastatic brain tumor?

Foundations like Head for the Cure have been seeking to find ways to eradicate brain cancer from society.

The Head for the Cure Foundation is dedicated to the memory of Chris Anthony, who was diagnosed with a giloblastoma multiforme brain tumor in October 2000.  While he passed away on February 10, 2003, Chris’s memory will live on through his family.

Besides being a family man, Chris was an avid runner.  The Head for the Cure foundation has five different 5Ks races that take place in Kansas, Missouri and Texas.   This Sunday, thousands of people will be at Corporate Woods to participate in the tenth anniversary Head for the Cure Metro Kansas City 5K.

At last year’s event, Head for the Cure had 4,000 participants, which raised over $300,000 for the Brain Tumors Trials Collaborative.
