Last night, the final set of AGT quarterfinalists performed on the Radio City Music Hall stage.
Some acts like Alicia Michilli, Freelusion, Metal Mulisha Fitz Army and Oz Pearlman delivered spectacular performances; others like Benjamin Yonattan and the Selected of God Choir soared and inspired the nation. Unfortunately, DADitute became the first act this season to receive the dreaded four Xs at Radio City Music Hall.
Which acts made it safely to the Semifinals? Which acts were up for the Dunkin Save and the Judges’ Save? Read on to find out!
After recapping the night, Nick revealed the three acts that were in danger of elimination and needed the live Dunkin’ Save. The three acts were Benjamin Yonattan, Daniella Mass and Gary Vider.
While Nick consoled the three remaining acts, Howie Mandel crashed the Dunkin’ Donuts Lounge contestant party. Up first to face America’s votes were Mountain Faith Band and Selected of God. As I was happy that Mountain Faith Band made it through the semifinals, I am a little disappointed that Selected of God was eliminated from the competition. When it came to Chapkis Dance Family and Alicia Michilli, I knew that America got it right and Alicia was heading to the Semifinals.
Before we got back to the results, the judges played Buzzer Buddies (a parody of The Newlywed Game). We learned that Howard talks too much during the live shows, Howie always irritates Mel B and that Scary Spice draws inappropriate drawings on Howie’s papers. Eventually, Mel B and Howie won the inaugural Buzzer Buddies and the cast of Le Reve delivered a spectacular performance that brought the Radio City Music Hall audience to their feet.
With five acts locked in, it was time to reveal who received the Dunkin’ Save and which acts were up for the Judges’ Save. After 150,000 Instant Votes, comedian Gary Vider (Triple YAY!!!!) edged out Daniella Mass to win the Dunkin’ Save. Howie advised him to get to the A-plus level of excellence fast, because he is going to be facing his Golden Buzzer pick: Drew Lynch.
As Gary triumphantly left the stage, it was time for the Judges’ Save. Heidi kicked off the vote by voting for Benjamin. Mel B praised both acts and stated while they were so different, Scary Spice chose Daniella. Howie compared their stories and joined Mel B and Howard in voting Daniella into the Semifinals.
Next week, the Semifinals start! Gary, Oz and Mountain Faith Band will join Siro-A, Drew Lynch, the CraigLewis Band and Samantha Johnson in the one of the most epic semifinal battles in AGT history!
