After countless blind auditions, battle rounds and live performances, Juliet Simms, Jermaine Paul, Chris Mann and Tony Lucca are the last singers standing. Tomorrow night, they will perform two songs: one final solo and one with their coach.
As always, jacobelyacharjournalist.com has analyzed which of these four remaining singers have a chance of winning and what they must do and not do in order to win the Season Two title.
Juliet Simms (Team Cee Lo)
The only woman left standing in the competition is Team Cee Lo’s Juliet Simms. She has slowly evolved from her early dark horse status to true contender. Juliet had a streak of strong live performances that include “Roxanne,” “Cryin’” and “It’s A Man’s, Man’s World.” For her to win this season, Juliet needs to continue to breath new life into classic music standards and also deliver a powerful collaboration with her coach. What might be her undoing could be two things: the stress of being in the Final Four and her fanbase being inactive on finale night.

Jermaine Paul (Team Blake)
From the start of his Blind Audition, former Alicia Keys-backup singer Jermaine Paul has been one of the clear frontrunners in the competition. Each week on the show, he has fused soul into rock classics including Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer,” Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds” and Journey’s “Open Arms.” To win this competition, Jermaine must continue to go in this direction on Monday. However, the only thing that could stop Jermaine from winning is self-doubt.

Chris Mann (Team Christina)
Like Jermaine Paul, Chris Mann was perceived as a frontrunner to make it in the finale. There is no question that Chris has a terrific voice and he must show it off more in order to win the competition but he faces numerous problems that he must overcome to win. One, he must connect with the audience; there were issues with connectivity on several of his performances. Secondly, he has been performing songs that have been done on other Reality T.V. shows. His versions of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Ave Maria” were considered subpar to Clay Aiken and Barbara Padilla’s show-stopping covers respectively. If he sings another song on Monday, that has been performed on another show and if it is abysmal, he will lose.

Tony Lucca (Team Adam)
Throughout the competition, Tony Lucca has been proving himself worthy to make into the finals. While he has delivered great performances like “In Your Eyes,” “Trouble” and “Baby One More Time,” fans have been starting move away from the former Mouseketeer. The reasons why they have left him could be Christina Aguilera’s earlier comments to him about his performance, taking any more chances and not wanting another guitar player to win the show again. To win this season, Tony must take a risk on Monday night and win back his fanbase.
