Warning: Spoilers are ahead!
After waiting four years for the 23rd James Bond film, moviegoers and Bond fans alike will be thrilled to watch Daniel Craig portray Agent 007 in the film franchise’s latest thriller Skyfall.
The film focuses on M (Judi Dench)’s past coming back to haunt her in a huge way. From blowing up MI6’s headquarters to causing chaos in the streets and subways of London, this threat will not stop until M is dead and MI6 is burnt to the ground.
Bond, as usual, is assigned the task to stop this madman and bring him to justice. However, the world’s favorite secret agent is not 100-percent well because the master spy is recovering from “his death” which happens at the beginning of the film. In addition, the audience will learn more about the secret agent’s past including seeing his ancestral home for the first time in James Bond film series.
There were two items that made Skyfall one of the year’s best action films. One of the most successful items of the film was the screenplay. Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan creatively wrote a brilliant hybrid of a love letter to the franchise and new story that would make audiences come back for more.
Another successful item in Skyfall’s superb formula was the cast. From Javier Bardem’s excellent portrayal of the psychotic villain Raoul Silva to the re-introductions of the sexy Miss Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and the quirky MI6 quartermaster Q (Ben Whishaw), this acting ensemble was the series’ best cast since 2002’s Die Another Day.
Overall, Skyfall was well worth the wait and this moviegoer is already waiting for Bond 24. A
