For hundreds of thousands of pop culture aficionados, today might be the equivalent of Christmas morning!
The reason why? Today marks the first full day of programming at the San Diego Comic Con!
While I may not be present at this year’s convention, Jake’s Take is happy to offer convention attendees several ideas for the best panels!
24 (10 to 11 a.m.; Ballroom 20)
Want to meet Jack Bauer? Kiefer Sutherland returns to Comic Con International for a panel that includes a sneak peek at 24: Live Another Day’s DVD featurettes. The event will also have a Q&A session with Sutherland and will be moderated by the show’s Executive Producer: Jon Cassar.
Legends of TV Land (10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; Indigo Ballroom-Hilton San Diego Bayfront)
Betty White and other TV icons will celebrate the history of television at this panel. The Golden Girl will also give the audience a preview of an animated episode of Ms. White’s hit TV Land series: Hot in Cleveland.
The Giver (1:30 to 2:30 p.m.; Hall H)
Lois Lowry’s The Giver remains one of the greatest stories of all-time! Now, after 20 years, The Weinstein Company and Walden Media will release a motion picture adaptation of the classic tale. Ms. Lowry will be present as she will present exclusive clips along with the film’s stars: Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites and Odeya Rush at this panel.
Teen Wolf (3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Ballroom 20)
Do you howl with delight when Teen Wolf is on MTV? Then, this panel is for you! Fan-favorite actors Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin and Holland Roden will introduce newcomers Shelley Henning and Dylan Sprayberry as premiere a new mid-season trailer and answer fans’ burning questions!
DC Comics-Batman 75: Legends of the Dark Knight (3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Room 6BCF)
The Dark Knight’s 75th Birthday celebration kicks off today with a special panel featuring an all-star group of creators as they pay tribute to one of the greatest superheroes of all-time! Among the creators confirmed for this event include Frank Miller, Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, Jim Lee and the iconic creative teams of Denny O’Neil and Neal Adams plus Batman’s Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo!
Marvel: Avengers & X-Men AXIS (4:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Room 6DE)
The House of Ideas’ biggest event of the year hits stores this fall! Red Skull has installed the deceased Professor X’s brain into his body and has evolved into the Red Onslaught! The only teams standing in his way are the Avengers and the X-Men! Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso along with editors Nick Lowe and Mike Marts will join Avengers & X-Men: AXIS writer Rick Remender and other creators as they preview the massive storyline!
