It is a pleasure to welcome actor and musician Atticus Dean to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Atticus Dean started piano lessons at 6-years-old. As a teen, Atticus was given a chance to play drums, and after getting his first drum kit, he began to play in a rock band in high school. After graduating, he felt pulled back to the keyboard and began composing his music. By 2017, he decided to commit his compositions to recordings and thus started his journey as a recording artist. After releasing two expanded plays, two albums, and a single, Atticus’ music has evolved from the contemporary classical sphere into something more alternative.
On November 11, 2022, Atticus Dean will release his newest album: Plot Armor. The album consists of eight intimate piano pieces. Listeners can expect that the compositions will reflect love, loss, grief, and serenity themes.
In addition to music, Atticus Dean is also a talented actor. He starred in various television series, including Fargo (Mickey Hess), How to Be Indie (Carlos Martinelli), Hard Rock Medical (Caleb), and Second Jen (Garth). He also starred in two franchises – My Babysitter’s a Vampire (Benny Weir) and The Hardy Boys (JB Cox).
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Atticus Dean spoke about his experience acting on My Babysitter’s A Vampire set. He teased JB Cox’s evolution as a character on The Hardy Boys. Atticus also talked about how he composed several compositions such as “The Hunter,” “We Will Endure the Long Nights,” “Beautiful Boy,” and “Petals.”
