It was a pleasure to welcome producer, recording artist, and songwriter Brendan “B Martin” Martin to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
This New York native has spent 11 years in the music industry. He shot his over 100 music videos and written over 1,000 songs including several Billboard dance hits with over 15 million streams as an recording artist and 10 million streams as a writer. B Martin has accomplished a lot in his career including winning Hot 97’s “Who’s Next” and being named Best Hip Hop Artist in New York by J Cole at South by Southwest’s “Battle of the Next.”
He also shared the stage with Kendrick Lamar at Summer Jam and opened for J Cole and the late Mac Miller while touring all over the East Coast. He collaborated on songs with Kendrick Lamar, T-Pain, and Young Money’s Cory Gunz. Recently, B Martin launched his new record label: Purpose Driven Artists. This record label hopes to give young creatives a shot in the recording industry without being taken advantaged by it.
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, B Martin spoke about overcoming the challenges he faced breaking into the music industry. He also shared the stories behind several his collaborations including Delove and Sam Smyers’ “Motive,” Setou and Senyo’s “Difference,” and “Walking Dead,” that he collaborated with our mutual friend Palmer.
