Canada’s Got Talent (CGT) is back! I am honored to welcome host Lindsay Ell to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
Lindsay Ell is one of country music’s most celebrated female voices. Forbes lauded her as “one of the most exciting and talented young artists.” She has two Canadian number-one singles (“Criminal” and “Want Me Back”) and a US number one platinum status single alongside Brantley Gilbert (“What Happens in A Small Town”).
In 2022, she joined CGT, working with the judges Howie Mandel, Trish Stratus, Kardinal Offishall, and Lilly Singh. So far on the show, she selected singers Anica and Jeanick Fournier to be her Golden Buzzer acts. While Anica made it to the semifinals in 2023, Jeanick won the 2022 competition and competed on NBC’s America’s Got Talent: All-Stars in 2023.
Lindsay Ell received a 2023 Canadian Screen Award nominee in the Best Host or Presenter – Factual or Reality/Competition category. She also has been nominated for three ACM Awards, two CMT Awards, a CMA Award, a JUNO Award, and 18 CCMA Awards. Her Gold single, “wAnt me back,” led to the execution of her first Canadian headlining tour and allowed her to share the stage with her childhood idol, Shania Twain, at Boots & Hearts, Canada’s biggest country music festival. During several US and Canadian stops on her Queen of Me Tour, she rejoined the “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” performer. When not hosting CGT or releasing new music, Lindsay funds the Make You Movement, a charitable fund that focuses on disenfranchised youth and survivors of sexual trauma and domestic abuse.
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Lindsay Ell previewed CGT’s “Million Dollar Season” and the new Golden Buzzer twist.
Canada’s Got Talent’s new season premieres on CityTV on Tuesday, March 19.
