It is a privilege to welcome digital creator and artist Danny Casale to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
Known as Coolman Coffeedan, Danny became a YouTuber instead of pursuing a traditional career in film and television after graduating from film school. Although his first animation, Snakes Have Legs, became an overnight sensation, Danny Casale’s dream of becoming a people’s artist started when he was a child living in Long Island, New York. He rode the wave of the Internet to share his doodles with the world, creating vivid animals and humans with plots and sounds, giving them real-life experience and fancy about the world. The individuality of his signature characters, Spesh and Blue Dude reflect the human beings they embody.
Recently, Danny Casale launched his first global exhibition at B3 K11 Art Mall in the Huangpu District in Shanghai, China. The exhibit, “Dumb Dreams and Messy Hands,” is sponsored by brand partners FARFETCH and Hisense. It hints at Danny’s growth trajectory as an artist while reminding exhibit attendees of the importance of putting thought into action and staying true to ourselves. To encourage the infinite potential of emerging art, FARFETCH will present a themed space in “Dumb Dreams and Messy Hands” with a childlike interactive game installation outlining an incredibly whimsical world. The exclusive device partner Hisense TV integrates its ULED televisions to help build an extensive exhibition with remarkable audiovisuals which energized the Coolman Universe.
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Danny Casale shared Spesh’s origin story and spoke about his most personal YouTube video: “Surviving the Worst Year of My Life.” He also discussed the “Dumb Dreams and Messy Hands” exhibit, launched July 7 and will run through October 7.
