It is a pleasure to welcome Sequester winner Kim Mattina to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
Sequester is a strategic game that invites 20 people to compete for a cash prize in one epic week of competition. Initially, the series started as a viral competition with seven seasons. Beginning in 2018, Sequester transformed into a filmed competition series. However, unlike Big Brother or Survivor, Sequester is an ever-evolving game. Twists and competitions await the players, and just like the two aforementioned CBS shows, a jury vote decides the champion.
Kim Mattina is one of the few people to compete in both versions. She appeared on the first online season, Sequester 1.0, which ran from March 18 to 26, 2016. While Kim was able to make it to the Final Two, sadly, the first Sequester jury awarded her opponent, Donavan Spence, the win. However, Kim Mattina was rewarded the ultimate second chance when she appeared on the sophomore season of the filmed series.
She was up against some stiff competition. Among the 19 people that she competed against included several Reality TV shows veterans. These veterans included The Amazing Race semifinalist Krista DeBono and Big Brother 15 semifinalist Judd Daugherty. Plus, Big Brother Canada houseguests Hamza Hatoum, Jesse Larson, and Sindy Nguyen were also competitors. Eventually, Kim made it to the finale and was able to convince her peers to elect her the winner of Sequester: Season Two.
In the very first video edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Kim Mattina talked about her Sequester experience and reminisced about her winning moment. We also spoke about Sequester’s upcoming Big Brother showdown as cast members from both Big Brother USA and Big Brother Canada face off in a next mini-episode that is expected to stream live on Friday, April 17. Finally, we discussed Adam Klein’s surprising elimination from Survivor: Winners at War, and we had a highly spirited discussion on a hypothetical Big Brother USA’s twentieth anniversary All-Stars Two cast.
