30. will.i.am & Miley Cyrus: “Fall Down”
On paper, “Fall Down” looked like an uncanny combination. But when music fans listened to the song, will.i.am’s smooth beats and Miley’s superb vocals delivered a surprising club anthem!
29. Little Mix: “Wings”
During the first half of 2013, Little Mix’s “Wings” dominated Top 40 radio airplay! This made Little Mix…the third successful X Factor UK act to break it big in America after Leona Lewis and One Direction.
28. Britney Spears: “Perfume”
One of the highlights of Britney Jean was the track that the Princess of Pop co-penned with Sia Furler and Christopher Braide. This stalkerish track showed a different side to the pop star and was a fan favorite tune.
27. Andrew De Leon: “Black Lights”
America’s Got Talent alum Andrew De Leon stretched his musical diversity with an original track that transported fans from the opera to the club.
26. Andrea Bocelli & Jennifer Lopez: “Quizas quizas quizas”
If there were an award for the surprise duet of 2013, it would go to the pairing of Andrea Bocelli and Jennifer Lopez. The returning American Idol judge brilliantly held her own against Bocelli plus David Foster’s musical arrangements made this song an impeccable piece of ear candy.
25. Barenaked Ladies: “Odds Are”
The Canadian Alternative rock band delivered an excellent toe-tapper that had amazing lyrics and incredible guitar licks.
24. Barbra Streisand: “You’re The Top”
One of the greatest entertainers of all-time returned to Brooklyn in style with this incredible cover of the Cole Porter classic.
23. The Band Perry: “Better Dig Two”
The Band Perry bounced back onto the music scene with a brilliant blend of country and pop rock!
22. Daughtry: “Long Live Rock & Roll”
Daughtry paid tribute to the greatest era in music on their fourth album: Baptized. The guitar section will definitely give music lovers chills.
21. Darius Rucker: “Wagon Wheel”
Former Hootie & the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker breathed new life into a Bob Dylan song on his fourth solo album: True Believers. Currently, the “Wagon Wheel” is almost at 23,000,0000 views on YouTube.
20. Glee Cast feat. Amber Riley: “I’ll Stand By You”
One of this year’s biggest entertainment news stories was the death of Cory Monteith. With class, grace and beautiful writing, Glee paid tribute to its quarterback with a lovely tribute episode. Amber Riley’s brilliant cover of the Pretenders’ “I’ll Stand By You” was a highlight of the episode.
19. Eminem & Sia: “Beautiful Pain”
Eminem’s smooth beats + Sia’s vocal cameo= one of the best rap songs of 2013!
18. Avicii feat. Adam Lambert & Nile Rodgers: “Lay Me Down”
With the help of Adam Lambert and Nile Rodgers, Avicii successfully transported everyone back to disco’s height with “Lay Me Down.”
17. Willie Nelson & Mavis Staples: “Grandma’s Hands”
For his latest studio album, country icon Willie Nelson recruited gospel legend Mavis Staples for a cover of Bill Withers’ soul anthem “Grandma’s Hands.”
16. Paul McCartney: “New”
Part one of our countdown concludes with legendary singer-songwriter Sir Paul McCartney! The music icon’s “New” pays homage to his days with the Beatles and Wings plus features a brilliant piano hook that will entice listeners of every generation to listen in.
