Happy New Music Friday! Welcome to the latest edition of Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar’s New Music Reviews! We got a lot of music to unpack, let’s start this party!

Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time is probably one of the most honest records I have heard in years. (Album cover property of Jessie J)
Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time by Jessie J
Jessie J is one of my generation’s top songwriters and vocalists, and for the past several years, the British songstress has been MIA. However, in mid-2025, multiple media outlets, including People, reported that the “Domino” performer revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and that she received a mastectomy. During this time, she recorded and self-released her first studio album in seven years, Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time. Jessie J co-wrote the record with Jesse Boykins III, Marty Rod, Ryan Tedder, and DIXSON, and Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time is probably one of the most honest records I have heard in years. I am delighted that Jessie J is back, and she sounds more powerful and stronger than ever! A

B.B. King’s Blues Summit 100 by Joe Bonamassa
2025 would have marked the late and legendary Blues performer B.B. King’s 100th birthday! Iconic Joe Bonamassa led an all-star group of musicians to pay homage to Mr. King through a two-album record called B.B. King’s Blues Summit 100. Aloe Blacc, Buddy Guy, Chaka Khan, Gary Clark Jr., Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Larkin Poe, Michael McDonald, Slash, and Train are among the musicians who showcase why the Lucille guitar player’s music remains eternally timeless. To all the musicians involved in this project, you made B.B. proud. A-

Nick Jonas’s fifth studio album marks a transition as a recording artist. Sunday Best’s material is more mature and reflects the former Voice coach’s personal life. (Album property of Republic Records)
Sunday Best by Nick Jonas
Nick Jonas dropped his first solo album in five years! Sunday Best sees the “Jealous” performer team up with some of the millennials’ top songwriters and producers, including Tommy English, Shay Mooney, Ryan Daly, Delacey, Dewain Whitmore, Jr, and JP Saxe. Nick’s fifth studio album marks a transition as a recording artist. Sunday Best’s material is more mature and reflects the former Voice coach’s personal life as he helps his superstar wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, raise their daughter. B

“Dirty Blonde” by Bebe Rexha
Hitmaker Bebe Rexha surprised fans with a four-minute mash-up of all 13 songs from her upcoming album, DIRTY BLONDE. This high-octane supercut does an outstanding job previewing this fantastic era for the “I’m Good (Blue)” songstress! A
“McArthur” by HARDY, Eric Church, Morgan Wallen & Tim McGraw
Four of country music’s biggest superstars (Eric Church, HARDY, Morgan Wallen & Tim McGraw) came together for a powerful song about four generations of the McArthur family. A Taste of Country reported that the four men each sang about a McArthur who experienced the Great Depression, Vietnam War, and a new generational divide. “McArthur” is a powerful, impressive song that could be nominated for several major country awards later this year. “Sexistential” by Robyn
Robyn closes out this edition of Jake’s Take’s with Jacob Elyachar’s New Music Reviews! Robyn is continuing her comeback with the title track of her ninth studio album, Sexistential. The “Show Me Love” singer-songwriter co-wrote and co-produced the song with Klas Ahlund. “Sexistential” reminds me of Far East Movement’s “Like a G6,” as it has a more electro-hop vibe. It will take listeners a while for this song to grow on them. B-
