It is a pleasure to welcome back actor and DJ extraordinaire Scotty Dynamo and welcome actor and model Mike Heslin to Jake’s Take.

Scotty Dynamo made his last appearance on Jake’s Take in November 2015. Since his previous visit, Scotty covered a plethora of Top 40 songs such as Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and DNCE’s “Cake by The Ocean.” He also mashed up several songs together, such as Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” and Martin Solveig’s “Intoxicated.” He also started to showcase his acting chops as he played lead roles in small films and filmed pilot episodes of My Gay Roommate and Drone Racers.

Eventually, Scotty crossed paths with Mike Heslin. Mike appeared in various regional theatre, and Broadway shows including Warhorse and the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Aida. He also starred in several TV shows, including Losing It with John Stamos, 7 Deadly Sins, and Younger. Mike was also featured in several films, including I Dream Too Much, We All Scream, and You Are Never Alone.

Together, the duo has created a web series called The Influencers. The series focuses on six social media influencers who are selected to live together and compete for an exclusive brand deal in a set of creative challenges. As the cameras capture each influencer IRL, the manicured version they present to the online world, not only crumples but explodes before viewers’ eyes.

The brand that the six social media influencers are competing for is Jücytox. This fictional product claims to do everything millennials need, such as helping them get a summer bod to cleaning their skin. To bring their project to the forefront, both Scotty Dynamo and Mike Heslin have turned to Kickstarter in hopes to cover post-production costs.

In this episode, Scotty and Mike shared The Influencers’ origin story and talked about reaching their Kickstarter goal.
