It is a privilege to welcome music duo Fox and Bones to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.

Scott Gilmore and Sarah Vitort, known as Fox and Bones, have been igniting stages since 2016.  Their infectious blend of Americana charm has graced international platforms alongside notable acts like Rayland Baxter, The Dead South, ZZ Ward, The Talbott Brothers, and Horse Feathers. Rooted in genuine folklore aspirations, the duo’s music is infused with over 25 years of combined songwriting expertise. With a soul-stirring, retro-infused folk-rock sound, Scott’s powerhouse vocals complement Sarah’s resonant tones, creating poignant and relatable music that resonates deeply with audiences.

Their dedication to their craft has earned them prestigious awards, including first place at the 2023 Tucson Folk Festival songwriting contest and second place in the International Acoustic Music Awards. Additionally, Fox and Bones are the founders of Portland’s Folk Festival, an annual event held at the iconic Crystal Ballroom. This three-night celebration of folk and roots music serves as a fundraiser for All Good NW, a local charity supporting the houseless community, and Music Portland, an advocate for local musicians in the Portland area.

On this episode of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Fox and Bones discussed their latest album, Long Time Honey, and some of the stories behind its songs.
