Last week, former Vice President candidate Sarah Palin’s elimination shocked social media. The former Alaska governor surprised the Masked Singer audience with her impeccable performance of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.”
As we entered the next round, a familiar face rejoined Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, and Jenny McCarthy at the Masked Singer panel. Fan-favorite judge and Ken’s former Community colleague Joel McHale. Did Joel’s presence help improve the panel’s guessing? Which performers are one step closer to competing in the Masked Singer: Season Three Super Nine? Which celebrity joined Chaka Khan, Dionne Warwick, Drew Carey, and Tom Bergeron in the unmasked club? After Nick Cannon made his entrance and re-introduced the Masked Singer audience to the panel and the guest star: Joel McHale. The Astronaut was the first performer to perform tonight. He sang Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” for his chance at the Group C Championship. I think the Astronaut is Hunter Hayes, and I loved the shout out to Season One’s Alien Mask (LaToya Jackson). Nicole loved the Astronaut’s energy and heart, plus Robin liked his song choice. Ken immediately guessed Donald Glover, while Joel McHale guessed Corey Feldman and Robin thought Joseph Gordon Levitt (Robin Thicke) was the Astronaut.
As Joel and Ken entertained the Masked Singer crowd, the Night Angel took the stage. Tonight, the Night Angel sang Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons,” and she immediately gave me chills. I hope that whoever is under the mask releases this cover on Apple Music and Soundcloud after the show. The panel guessed Regina King, Jessica Simpson (Really, Joel McHale?), and Taraji P. Henson.
Before the T-Rex Mask stomped her way on The Masked Singer, she praised the Night Angel’s wings. T-Rex performed Salt N’ Pepa’s “Push It.” While I loved her energy and execution of choreography, I am going to guess influencer JoJo Siwa is behind the T-Rex Mask. Both Nicole and Jenny praised the performer’s energy. The panel guessed Lilly Singh, Liza Koshy, and Mikaela Shiffrin.
As Joel McHale, Ken, and Robin harassed Nick; the Swan Mask revealed she is a self-made woman and dedicated her song to a special someone. She sang Joan Jett’s “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” and revealed that the song was dedicated to Ken! The former Community and Dr. Ken star were speechless. The panel guessed Mila Kunis, Kristen Stewart, Sandra Bullock, and Kristen Bell.
Rhino Mask closed out the night. He sang Niall Horan’s “Nice to Meet Ya,” and I started to get Jason Aldean vibes. I heard that voice every time I listened to “Don’t You Wanna Stay.” I was impressed by his performance, and Nicole loved his choreography. Robin also predicted that the Rhino would participate in the Masked Singer: Season Three Super Nine. The panel guessed Tim Tebow (Robin Thicke), Chris Pratt (Ken Jeong), and Ryan Lochte (Nicole Scherzinger-she could be onto something).
We had to say goodbye to the Swan Mask! The panel’s final guests were Olivia Munn (Ken Jeong), Megan Fox (Nicole Scherzinger), Mila Kunis (Joel McHale), and Kristen Stewart (Jenny McCarthy). It turned out to be Bella Thorne!
