Two of America’s Got Talent (AGT) ‘s most beloved winners visited the NBC talent competition. Season 14 champion Kodi Lee and Season Nine winner Mat Franco performed for the AGT audience; However, all eyes were on the first Season 15 quarterfinalists’ first set of 11 performers. Last night, these performers gave us a mix bag full of outstanding, average and pathetic performances. However, only five acts advanced to the semifinals. Which acts were eliminated? Whose dreams to join Mat and Kodi in the AGT winners’ circle were kept alive? Which acts needed the Dunkin’ Save to survive? Read on to find out!
After a recap of last night’s events, Terry revealed that Feng E, Brett Loudermilk, and Double Dragon were the three acts that were in danger of elimination. The trio needed fans to vote for the Dunkin’ Save. As the trio left the stage, Terry revealed the results. Archie Williams beat out both Michael Yo and the Nock Family to earn a spot in the Season 15 semifinals.
Mat Franco returned and brought guest judge Kelly Clarkson and Heidi Klum for a unique trick. He successfully matched three different cards followed by matching all of the cards from both Heidi and Kelly’s decks. It was great moment! As Mat Franco left the stage, Terry revealed that Shaquira McGrath beat contortionist dancer Frenchie Babyy for the second spot. Sofia Vergara’s Golden Buzzer, Roberta Battaglia, received the third spot.
Kodi Lee’s life changed once Gabrielle Union pressed the Golden Buzzer. His original audition has been viewed 57 million times on YouTube. Tonight, he performed “Break My Heart Again.” Once again, Kodi Lee gave me chills and left me speechless.
Now, it was time to learn the recipient of the Dunkin’ Save. The person that received the Dunkin’ Save was Brett Loudermilk! That left the judges to advance either Feng E and Double Dragon to the semifinals.
Heidi began the Judges Save deliberation by “going with her gut” and sent through Double Dragons. Sofia chose Double Dragons. Kelly chose Feng E, while Howie sent through Double Dragons.
Next week, 11 more acts face off for five more spots in the Season 15 semifinals!
