It’s almost official! One of the worst kept secrets in casting is getting closer to be announced….
Multiple news outlets including E! Entertainment News, the Hollywood Reporter and TMZ have stated that Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian Odom will team up to host the second season of The X Factor when the show goes live in November.
The duo will be replacing Steve Jones who was given the axe along with former judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger at the end of the show’s inaugural season.
This pairing is what X Factor needs for multiple reasons and this article breaks down what these hosts will respectively bring to this series…
Hosting veteran
The former Dancing with the Stars hoofer has plenty of hosting experience through hosting EXTRA and America’s Best Dance Crew meaning he can perfectly banter back and forth with the judges/mentors while supporting the contestants and keeping the show on time.
The media maven
With over 7,000,000 Twitter followers and countless of fans for her work on the hit E! Reality T.V. shows including Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Khloe & Lamar, she can bring her fanbase and could increase the show’s viewership especially when X Factor starts the live shows next month.
It makes Simon happy
The show creator told the press during the second season’s season premiere party that he wanted to have two hosts and stated, “I think I know the two people it’s going to be now. It’s going to be a boy and a girl.” When X Factor USA premiered last year, it was originally supposed to have both Jones and Scherzinger as the co-hosts until the dismissal of then judge Cheryl Cole forced the show to move Scherzinger onto the judges’ desk.
Interesting interactions
Khloe Kardashian, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato have all been the subjects of both tabloids and entertainment magazines for years and it will be very interesting to see how their chemistry develops. Meanwhile, it might be entertaining to see how Mario interacts with both Simon and L.A. and might be friendlier than their confrontational interactions with Steve Jones last year.
