The Masked Singer: Season 11 Group A Finalists ROCKED FOX’s undercover celebrity singing competition. Goldfish, Starfish, and Ugly Sweater competed to represent Group A in this season’s semifinal as they paid homage to Queen.
Which undercover celebrity advanced to the Season 11 semifinals? Who were the last two members unmasked and joined Colton Underwood, Demarcus Ware, Kevin Hart, and Sisqó in the Season 11 elimination club? Did the panelists (Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Robin Thicke, and Rita Ora) correctly deduce the eliminated performers’ identities? Read on to find out!
Goldfish, Starfish, and Ugly Sweater began the night with “We Are The Champions” before Nick Cannon joined them on stage. Nick revealed that the top two performers would duke it out in the Battle Royale as the Men in Black escorted the trio backstage.
Ugly Sweater’s final pre-performance package of this round contained vintage clothing, a “prayer emoji,” and a 24-karat gold piece. He sang “I Want to Break Free,” I am tripling my guess that Charlie Wilson is the Ugly Sweater. Tonight’s clue focused on the connection between the celebrity and Nick or the panel. Ugly Sweater was connected to Nick. Rita returned to her Smokey Robinson guess, while Jenny thought it was Aaron Neville. Robin joined me in guessing Charlie Wilson.
Starfish returned to the stage! Her pre-performance package clues included a telephone, a telescope, a white rabbit, and a bell. She sang “Under Pressure,” I still thought Molly Shannon was under the Starfish costume. A magician revealed that Starfish is connected to Jenny. Robin guessed Kate McKinnon, while Rita thought it was Amy Schumer. Ken thought it was his dear friend, Kate Flannery.
Goldfish ended the first round of the evening. Her pre-performance package contained a map of an island, a wizard’s hat, and a red rose. She sang “The Show Must Go On,” one of the season’s best performances. I still believe that Vanessa Hudgens is under the Goldfish Mask. The performance left Rita speechless and in tears, while Robin described the experience as a “How-To.” Galileo pointed out that Goldfish is connected to Ken as they were former co-stars. Robin thought it was Hillary Duff, and Jenny thought it was Selena Gomez. Rita concluded the guessing by joining me in guessing Vanessa Hudgens.
The Masked Singer panel and studio audience voted to send UGLY SWEATER home and both sea creatures into the Battle Royale. Ken guessed Reverend Al Green, while Jenny thought it was Aaron Neville. Rita added Smokey Robinson into the mix as Robin doubled down his guess of Charlie Wilson. ROBIN AND I WERE RIGHT, CHARLIE WILSON WAS UGLY SWEATER!
As Charlie Wilson left the stage, it was time for Group A’s Battle Royale. Goldfish brought out her sassy side with “Another One Bites the Dust” and showcased her showmanship throughout this short performance. Meanwhile, Starfish brought a more humorous approach to the song.
The panel declared that GOLDFISH WON the Sing-Off of the Fishes and will represent the group in the Season 11 Quarterfinal! Robin guessed Kate McKinnon, while Rita doubled down her guess of Amy Schumer. Ken doubled down his guess of his friend Kate Flannery and Jenny went with Lisa Kudrow. KEN WAS RIGHT…KATE FLANNERY WAS STARFISH!
