The Masked Singer: Season Four is heading into the home stretch! Tonight, Group A (Popcorn, Sun, and the Snow Owls) returned to the studio for their last shot to make into the Super Six.
However, only two performers were able to advance to the final stage of the competition. Which two acts were able to conceal their identities? Who was forced to unmask? Did the Masked Singer panel (Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg) correctly deduce the performer’s identity? Read on to find out!
The Sun was the first performer to face the panel and Niecy Nash. Tonight, the Season Four frontrunner performed Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart.” I knew it from the first minute that she opened her mouth; it was LeAnn Rimes. Niecy Nash declared that she was “OBSESSED” with the Sun. Her clue involved a greeting from a loved one, and it stated that she was certified gold. Ken Jeong thought it was Katharine McPhee. Niecy disagreed and thought it was Jewel. Jenny thought it was Demi Lovato. (Oh, Robin Thicke — the KU Jayhawks chant “Rock Chalk Jayhawk!” )
The Snow Owls were the second performers of the evening. Their friend, the Branch, have known them for over 20 years. Tonight, the duo sang Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion’s “The Prayer,” and it gave me chills. Entertainment Weekly predicted that the Snow Owls are Clint Black and his wife, Lisa Hartman Black. The Branch revealed that the Snow Owls were a couple! Niecy Nash thought it was Brad Paisley and his wife, Kimberly. Robin thought it was Amy Grant and Vince Neil. Ken thought it was Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman.
Before hitting the stage, Popcorn Mask revealed that she had a crush on Nick. Popcorn’s BFF is a Queen, and she said that she previously competed on The Masked Singer. She sang Jessie J’s “Domino,” and immediately, I heard Taylor Dayne’s voice yet again. Popcorn left Robin Thicke confused, while Popcorn’s famous friend stated one of them guessed this artist before. Jenny McCartney Wahlberg thought it was Taylor Dayne, while Niecy Nash thought it was Cyndi Lauper. Ken thought it was Anita Baker.
After the superfans and the panel voted for the Sun to go directly to the Super Six! That meant that the Popcorn Mask and the Snow Owls were forced to face off in the smackdowns. Snow Owls kicked off the round with Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me,” and they gave me chills with their vocals once again. Popcorn Mask countered with Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” and she delivered a superb vocal.
After the smackdown, Niecy Nash and the panel voted to send POPCORN to the Super Six. That meant we had to say goodbye to the Snow Owls. Both Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg thought it was Amy Grant and Vince Neil, while Ken stood by Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman. Nicole guessed Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black, while Niecy guessed Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamilin.
Nicole was right, the SNOW OWLS were CLINT BLACK and LISA HARTMAN BLACK!
Next week, Group B enters its finals!
