New Music Releases is back with another edition of exciting new music!
This week, Jake’s Take looks at hot albums from Fall Out Boy, Olly Murs and Krystal Keith. Plus, new singles from John Legend, Lady Antebellum, PSY and will.i.am!
Save Rock & Roll by Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy is back in action! After a four-year hiatus, the Pop Punk band released their fifth studio album: Save Rock & Roll. The band’s new sound is incredible and the quartet did an astonishing job arranging all 11 tracks on this superb album. Patrick Stump’s vocals are stronger than ever and Andy Hurley’s percussion reigns supreme. Also keep an eye out for Sir Elton John, Foxes, Big Sean and Courtney Love, who make vocal cameos throughout the album. A
Songs to Download: “The Phoenix,” “My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up),” “Just One Yesterday” & “Save Rock & Roll”
Right Place Right There by Olly Murs
Former X Factor UK alum Olly Murs has come to America to find the same success that fellow alums Leona Lewis, One Direction and Cher Lloyd have enjoyed. Olly’s debut American album is a strong mix of pop, R&B and even Hip-Hop. His vocals could remind listeners of Adam Levine, Justin Timberlake and Ne-Yo. Olly has a strong marketable presence about him that will make him successful in North America. A-
Songs to Download: “Heart Skips a Beat,” “Troublemaker,” “Dance With Me Tonight” & “Oh My Goodness”
Krystal Keith by Krystal Keith
Krystal Keith’s debut EP is a great four-piece set that showcases her seductive vocal licks and country roots. All four of these superb songs will satisfy hardcore country veterans and new listeners alike. I have a very strong feeling that Krystal is on her way to become a memorable artist like her famous father. B+
Songs to Download: “Daddy Dance With Me” & “Can’t Buy You Money”
“Who Do We Think We Are” by John Legend feat. Rick Ross
The first single off of John Legend’s fourth studio album: Love In the Future is a very strong single that perfectly blends Legend’s smooth R&B voice with the solid raps of Rick Ross. “Who Do We Think We Are” is a great example of Legend’s production work as there is a happy medium between the strong beats and the vocal tracks. R&B fans will be looking towards this release. B+/A-
“Goodbye Town” by Lady Antebellum
Country music’s favorite trio dropped their second single off of their fifth studio album today. “Goodbye Town” is another successful single because music lovers will connect to the lyrics and Lady Antebellum’s musicianship continues to shine through. Hopefully, Lady Antebellum will be able to release quality previews from their fifth album before May 7. A
“Gentleman” by PSY
The Korean superstar’s follow-up to “Gangman Style” is not really appealing to the ears! While it has some hypnotic beats, it is not as successful as his now classic tune. C-

“Fall Down” by will.i.am feat. Miley Cyrus
The Voice UK judge and former Black Eyed Pea has a tendency to elevate the artists that he works with in positive ways. He brought out Jennifer Lopez’s hypnotic vocals in “T.H.E. Hardest Ever” and Britney Spears’ sexiness in “Scream & Shout,” now will.i.am successfully migrated the Artist Formerly Known as Hannah Montana into the dance pop scene. This track is a worthy single for #willpower and will dominate the radio in the coming months. B+
I do not own all of the music clips that are featured in this article, they belong to the artists and their respective record companies.
