Welcome to the first edition of New Music Releases for 2015!!!!
To kick off our year, I have checked out the latest material from the hottest (and up-and-coming) names in music!
Pure Romance by Jim Brickman
Valentine’s Day is only a month away…but if you are looking for the soundtrack to set the mood, I highly recommend that you get Jim Brickman’s Pure Romance. The Grammy-nominated pianist beautifully adapts some of the greatest love songs in the past three decades and his arrangement will give listeners goose bumps. Congrats, Mr. Brickman! Pure Romance is my first Album of the Week for 2015! A
Tracks to Download: “A Thousand Years,” “Bless the Broken Road,” “Fields of Gold,” “All of Me” & “Make You Feel My Love”
Roger Jackson by Roger Jackson
In all honesty, a majority of today’s country rockers (Jason Aldean and Eric Church) are boring! However, up-and-coming artist Roger Jackson proves that he will not be like the Jason Aldeans or Eric Churches of the world with his self-titled EP. The guitar riffs in “Heart’s Highway” are superb and the lyrics are unbelievable. If Roger Jackson continues to produce this quality material, he will be a strong voice that will represent millennials in the country music industry! A-
Tracks to Download: “Wishin It Was Friday,” “Heart’s Highway,” “SecondHand Smoke” & “Try It On”
New Year by Lazyeyes
One of the Big Apple’s most promising Dream pop trios just released their sophomore EP! Jason Abrishami, Paul Volpe and Jeremy Sampson will hypnotize listeners through their five-track EP as their tunes might send their fans to a 1950s/1960s psychedelic beach party on both the East and West Coasts. 2015 might just be Lazyeyes’ breakout year! B+
Tracks to Download: “New Year,” “Islip,” “Darling Dear” & “Windowsill”
“Only One” by Kanye West feat. Sir Paul McCartney
I admit that Kanye West is one of the most polarizing rappers in the music industry. His work such has “All of the Lights,” “Touch The Sky” and “Monster” will go as some of the best rap songs of the 2000s. However, “Only One” showcases a very rare side to the elusive rapper. His touching tribute to his daughter, North, is brilliant and despite the auto-tune a superb single! In addition, Sir Paul McCartney’s keyboards made the track! Congrats, Kanye and Mr. McCartney…your single is my first Song of the Week of 2015! A
“Going Out Like That” by Reba McEntire
Reba McEntire rounds out the first 2015 edition of New Music Releases with her single: “Going Out Like That.” This track not only perfectly captures Ms. McEntire’s personality, but also stunningly helps the listeners vividly envision the song’s music video! I hope that this single means that we might see Ms. McEntire drop a full-length album this year! A-
