It’s EP & Singles Week on this edition of New Music Releases!
I looked into the EPs of Tony Lucca and Little Endians, plus brand new singles from Danielle Bradbery, Fifth Harmony, Justin Timberlake and John Oates.
With the Whole World Watching by Tony Lucca
Tony Lucca’s first post Voice EP focuses on serious topics that included hope and heartbreak. Besides being a great lyricist, Tony’s superb guitar work was brilliantly sprinkled throughout each album and fans will be impressed with his ability to balance both ballads and up-tempo tracks. I hope that Tony releases a full album in the future. A+
Songs to Download: “Never Gonna Let You Go,” “Reckless Love,” “Never in a Million” & “Hear Ya Say”
Little Endians by Little Endians
If there was a band to watch for the remainder of the year, it is this L.A. based Alternative trio. They have a terrific sound! I love the harmonies and the lyrics that are showcased through the five tracks. I am very surprised that they have not broken out of the Indie rock scene. I have a feeling that they are going to have a bright future. A
Be sure to check out the lyric video for “Candle Eyes”
“The Heart of Dixie” by Danielle Bradbery
While this is a solid post-Voice single by the Season Four winner, my only concern is the lyrical content. Is this 16-year-old too young to talk about alcohol and a deadbeat husband? This author hopes that Universal Nashville gives her songs to sing that are age-appropriate for Danielle to sing. C+
“Miss Movin’ On” by Fifth Harmony
The X Factor USA’s sophomore season third place finishers released their debut single! This is a great pop rock female empowerment song that will dominate the Top 40 radio charts this year. If they continue to record songs like this, their first studio album will not only save The X Factor USA brand, but it will be one of the year’s best albums. A-
“Take Back the Night” by Justin Timberlake
The first single to the sequel of The 20/20 Experience is a great tribute to the King of Pop and the Purple One. “Take Back the Night” has a great vibe, terrific instrumental arrangements and of course, superb vocals from Justin. A+
“Don’t Cross Me Wrong” by John Oates feat. Vince Gill
“Don’t Cross Me Wrong” is a terrific track that features two music legends at their finest. The guitar licks are superb and Mr. Oates’s crisp vocals really give the track the juice it needs to keep listeners entranced. I am looking forward to hear the whole Good Road to Follow album in the future. A
I do not own the tracks that are featured throughout the article. They belong to the artists and record companies.
