Give me an N-E-W-M-U-S-I-C-R-E-L-E-A-S-E-S!
What does that spell everyone? New Music Releases!
This week is “All About the Albums!” So, let’s get this party started.
The Original High by Adam Lambert
One of the most eagerly anticipated albums of 2015 is Adam Lambert’s The Original High! This album contains a lot of firsts! The Original High is Adam’s first album with his new label: Warner Bros. Records. It is also the first time that super producers Max Martin (BSB, Britney, Celine, Pink & Taylor Swift) and Shellback (Cher Lloyd & Maroon 5) produced a bulk of the album. Adam continues to prove his case why he is one of the most mesmerizing pop stars on the planet as he continues to deliver vocal touchdowns after vocal touchdowns. In addition, we also got to see Lambert as a co-writer as he assisted Martin, Shellback and a slew of other producers and co-writers such as Sterling Fox, Savan Kotecha, Lukas Loules and Ilya on creating the jaw dropping tracks that were sprinkled onto the album. In addition, keep an ear out for rising vocal starlet Tove Lo and Queen guitarist Brian May, who provide Adam with assistance on respective songs: “Rumors” & “Lucy” respectively. Overall, The Original High is a worthy successor to For Your Entertainment as his best album. In addition, Jake’s Take wants to send its congratulations to Adam, Max and Shellback as The Original High is my Album of the Week! A+

Grand Romantic by Nate Ruess
Another artist that released a new chapter in his music career today is Nate Ruess. The former Fun frontman carved out a solo album that showcased the evolution of his songwriting and arrangement process. Grand Romantic brilliantly captures the emotional spectrum such as happiness (“AhHa”) and depression (“Moment”) and would appease the listener’s ears as well. I am looking forward to hearing what Nate Ruess does next in his career. B+
Tracks to Download: “AhHa,” “What This World Is Coming To,” “Great Big Storm” & “Moment”
Before This World by James Taylor
James Taylor is one of the best singer-songwriters of all-time! Before This World marks the first album of new material in 13 years and Mr. Taylor still has his magic to capture the listener’s imagination. Mr. Taylor’s musicianship continues to shine brighter than any of today’s Top 40 artists and proves that no matter how old you are, you still can produce quality music without technological advancements. Tracks to Download: “Today Today Today,” “Angels Of Fenway,” “Stretch of The Highway,” “Montana” & “SnowTime”
The Fool by Ryn Weaver
One singer-songwriter that is getting a lot of buzz through social media and the Internet is Ryn Weaver. Since she connected with superstar songwriter-producer Benny Blanco (Kesha, Maroon 5 & Wiz Khalifa) and fellow rising artist Charli XCX, the San Diego songstress’ name has been on the lips of countless Top 40 radio hosts across the country. Ms. Weaver’s vocals might remind music listeners of sirens Florence Welch and Sia Furler. The “OctaHate” singer also kept readers on the edge of their seats with the impeccable production from Ms. Weaver’s colleagues: Blanco, Charli XCX and Passion Pit front man Michael Angelakos. I have a strong feeling that The Fool is going to help Ms. Weaver propel her into superstardom. B

Déjà vu by Giorgio Moroder
Disco pioneer Giorgio Moroder celebrated his 75th birthday this year! To mark this milestone, he released his first studio album in 30 years! In order to pull this album off, he recruited some of the hottest names in dance music: Sia, Foxes, Charli XCX, Kelis and two Queens of Pop: Britney Spears & Kylie Minogue. This album pays homage to the decades of music that Mr. Moroder produced and influenced. He is truly a master producer and arranger and I hope that it does not take another 30 years to release a follow-up. A-
