Today, I focus on the latest singles from Sheryl Crow, Tate Stevens, The Band Perry, Coco Jones, Ciara and Natalie Maines.
“Easy” by Sheryl Crow
Sheryl Crow’s first single off of her upcoming eighth studio album is an incredible country song that perfectly fuses the folksy rock sounds that we all know and love about this Grammy winner. This song could definitely be a contender during the upcoming award season. A
Sheryl debuted the song when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! To watch the performance, click here: http://youtu.be/URQFjAPu5pk
“Power of a Love Song” by Tate Stevens
The X Factor’s second winner delivered an incredible single that beautifully weaved a story about the power of a love song. This song shows that the Belton, Missouri native has a strong future in the music industry and could help him gain momentum to become the show’s male version of Carrie Underwood. A+
“DONE” by The Band Perry
The Band Perry’s second single off of its sophomore album is an incredible toe tapper and aggressive country rock anthem. “DONE” shows that the Band Perry is able to expand their sound and that their sophomore album will be one wild listening experience. A
“Déjà vu” by Coco Jones
One of Disney’s brightest stars has released her first single of 2013. “Déjà vu” shows off Coco’s vocals and shows that she has potential to be a diva-in-training. A-
“Body Party” by Ciara
Ciara’s “Body Party” is a nice slow jam that will make her fans happy but it sounds to generic to me and it would be a little boring to music lovers. C+
“Without You” by Natalie Maines
The former Dixie Chick’s first single off of her first solo album is a cover of Eddie Vedder’s “Without You.” This was a brazen move on Natalie’s part but she made the song her own and gave a strong indication that this album will be one of the strongest cover albums of the year. A
