This is Not a Love Song by Delilah Montagu
20-year-old Delilah Montagu dropped her latest extended play: This is Not a Love Song. The Hampshire native turned London transplant reminds me of an upbeat Lana Del Rey. As I listened throughout the EP, music lovers would be intrigued by both the lyrics and the EP’s production. I believe that Delilah Montagu has a bright future ahead of her, and she could be one of 2021’s breakout stars. B+

“Elastic” by Ariel Bellvalaire
Los Angeles-based singer-guitarist Ariel Bellvalaire released her new single: “Elastic.” Her guitar solo reminds me so much of the next coming of longtime MJ tour guitarist Jennifer Batten or Orianthi. I also believe that music lovers will Avril-esque voice, and “Elastic” deserves to be featured on numerous rock music streaming playlists. A-
“Fela Woke (I Will Miss You)” by John Orpheus
Author John Orpheus dropped one of 2021’s most moving tracks to date. According to the music videos’ note, “Fela Woke (I Will Miss You)” is about “celebrating our heroes but letting go of them so that we can become heroic.” John did a beautiful job paying homage to his grandmother, Miss Excelly, and Bob Marley. I guarantee that music lovers will get chills as they listen to this track. A
“#AnxiousAF” by Mia Ariannaa
Division 1 and Epic Records’ rising recording artist Mia Ariannaa released a new song: “#AnxiousAF.” Produced by Grammy-winning producer Rico Love, “#AnxiousAF” samples Ginuwine’s classic song “So Anxious.” The track features a superb vocal from Mia Ariannaa and sets up the Charlotte, North Carolina native’s rise in the R&B world. “Only Yesterday” by Payson Lewis
Philadelphia native turned Los Angeles transplant Payson Lewis is building a presence in the music industry thanks to his devoted social media followers. When I first “Only Yesterday,” it reminded me of the first time I heard Charlie Puth’s “Dangerously.” The track is ready for both radio and streaming playlists, and I believe that Payson could be one of the artists that can reignite the pop music genre.
