Welcome to the latest edition of New Music Tuesday!
This week, I will be reviewing new albums from Joss Stone, Joshua Radin and Giulietta and the hottest singles from Alanis Morissette and Hans Zimmer.
The Soul Sessions, Vol. 2 by Joss Stone: Nine years ago, British recording star Joss Stone released her very first studio album called: The Soul Sessions. Now, two BRIT Awards and a Grammy later, Ms. Stone has released a follow-up album featuring original and multiple covers of soul songs. Joss Stone perfectly sings every single track on the album and successfully introduces forgotten songs that may have been forgotten by music lovers and history. However, the only thing that I have against this album is that there is not enough up-tempo music and it could put listeners to sleep. Grade: B+; Tracks to Download: “(For God’s Sake) Give More Power to the People,” “Teardrops,” “The High Road” and “First Taste of Hurt.”

Underwater by Joshua Radin: The Cleveland-born singer-songwriter released his fourth studio album in two years. Underwater is a serene album to listen to while you are floating at the swimming pool during the final weeks of summer and it also shows Radin’s ability as a songwriter, singer and even arranger as a majority of the tracks feature beautiful backing orchestrations. Grade: A-; Tracks to Download: “Tomorrow is Gonna be Better,” “Anywhere Your Love Goes” and “Running Out of Time.

911: Code Pink by Giulietta: One of the hottest dance pop albums that came out this week is 911: Code Pink. This album is filled with a great mix of dance pop, rock and even hip-hop and I strongly believe that this album will not only help Giulietta continue her road to international dance floor dominance but also it will establish the album’s producer Simmy become a major force as a music producer. Grade: A; Tracks to Download: “@2AM,” “Like a Ghost,” “Audio Slave” and “Voodoo.”
“Lens” by Alanis Morissette: The second single off of Alanis Morisette’s upcoming studio album: Havoc and Bright Lights is classic Alanis because it has thought-provoking lyrics and great backing music. With each song that Alanis and RED releases, it will make music lovers excited to buy and hear the album. Grade: A
Aurora by Hans Zimmer: After the events of the tragic shooting at an Aurora, Colorado movie theatre, the Dark Knight Rises composer Hans Zimmer composed an beautiful and haunting track dedicated to the shooting victims and their loved ones. This is a beautiful piece of music that will move anyone who listens to it. Grade: A+
