Two years ago, fairytale characters came to the real world courtesy of Once Upon A Time.

As Emma Swan and her family chase Peter Pan in Neverland on the flagship series, another storybook heroine is about to begin the journey of her life.

Her name is…Alice!

When viewers first met her…she was an adorable child…who recently got back from Wonderland.  Her father, of course, does not believe her and consulted a psychiatrist who convinces him to send Alice to a sanitarium.

The show shifted back to Storybrooke…where a mysterious man arrived and almost crashed into Emma’s car and stole a set of keys from Ashley (Cinderella) and Leroy (Grumpy).  However, just as he was about to have a cup of coffee, the White Rabbit appears and address him as the Knave of Hearts.   While the Knave did not want to help until the White Rabbit reveals that Alice is in danger.

Back in London, Alice faced a firing squad of nasty doctors who tried to make Alice think that her trips to Wonderland are nonsense.  During the inquisition, Alice remembers her final trip to Wonderland…where she met and fell in love with a genie named Cyrus.   Just as she accepted a wedding proposal, the Red Queen and her forces ambushed them and with a flick of her wrist, Cyrus fell to his death.

The head doctor convinced Alice that there was a new treatment that will cure her of her misery.  She signed the form but just before the procedure…the Knave of Hearts showed up and stated that Cyrus was alive!  Alice decided to follow the Knave and escaped the asylum.   Once reunited with the White Rabbit, he dug a portal to Wonderland.  The Knave did not want to go through but Alice talked him into it.

Back in Wonderland, Alice used her problem solving skills to get the Knave and herself out of a sticky situation: using a fire-breathing dragonfly to melt part of the Marshmallow Marsh.  Once, they were free of the marsh…Alice offered a wish to the Knave as payment to finding Cyrus.  Meanwhile, as Cyrus agreed on the deal…the White Rabbit ran into the Red Queen.

The Red Queen wanted the White Rabbit to be her eyes and ears on all of Alice’s activities.  As soon as the White Rabbit left, the Red Queen had another visitor: the villainous Jafar.  In turned out that the duo made an unholy and uneasy alliance.  While Jafar threatened to kill the Red Queen, the Wonderland’s malevolent ruler said that his magic did not work in her domain.

Alice found herself abandoned after the Knave of Hearts cowardly ran away with her shoes.  This left her prey to the Cheshire Cat…Just as the Cat was about to eat her, the Knave took a piece of mushroom…which made the creature smaller.  The duo eventually made it to the Mad Hatter’s old workshop.

While Cyrus was not there, the Knave advised Alice to give up the search.  She was about to give up until she found Cyrus’s necklace.  Now more determined than ever, Alice vows to find her true love and convinces them to find her.  Art the end, it was revealed that Jafar captured Cyrus and trapped him in a cage.

Next week, as the trio search for Cyrus…Jafar and the Red Queen move forward with their vile scheme.
