Canada’s Got Talent (CGT): Season Two is off and running!

The show’s on-air team, judges Howie Mandel, Lilly Singh, Trish Stratus, and Kardinal Offishall, and host Lindsey Ell are back, looking for Canada’s best talent. The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast is grateful to CGT for welcoming back some of my favorite acts who impressed me during the Judges’ Auditions.

Magician Atsushi Ono is the third act to visit The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Born in 1979 in Kyoto, Japan, Atsushi first became fascinated by magic as an elementary school student after seeing magic performed on television. He practiced alone for years until a chance encounter in 2002. While he studied in the United States, Atsushi met professional magicians Tom Frank and Tobias Pashia, who invited Atsushi to study under them.

Their mentoring forever changed Atsushi Ono’s approach to magic. His abilities not only earned Atsushi awards and the respect of his colleagues but also made him one of the most entertaining, funny, and -yes- magical performers you will ever see.

Following his return to Japan, he held an exclusive engagement nearly seven days a week for two years at French Drop in Osaka, one of Japan’s top magic theater bars. Looking to broaden his horizons, in 2008, Atsushi Ono moved to Canada and began creating a series of original acts.

Atsushi Ono received numerous awards, including second place and the 2009 People’s Choice Award at the Society of American Magicians in Buffalo, NY. That same year, he won the People’s Choice Award at the International Brotherhood of Magicians convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

In 2010, he was invited to perform at the most renowned FFFF convention (Fecher’s Finger Flicking Frolic), the most prestigious gathering of close-up magicians worldwide. He now resides in and performs in Canada, the United States, and Japan. His relaxed charm, sense of humor, and creative approach to performing have made him a famous magician and entertainer who is equally at home performing at large events and up close for small groups.

In this special Canada’s Got Talent: Season Two edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Atsushi Ono spoke about his audition, including his take on judge Kardinal Offishall walking off during the presentation.

Canada’s Got Talent airs on CityTV.
