This is just in!
According to the Hollywood Reporter, TV Guide and TMZ, the “Oops! I Did It Again” singer has left the FOX singing competition just after one season.
So now with two judges gone, Simon Cowell and the X Factor crew has their work cut out for them as they need to find two additional judges for season three.
Previously, I published a post with suggestions on who should replace L.A. Reid when the show returns for its third season: https://jakes-take.com/2012/12/potential-l-a-reid-replacements-on-x-factor/
Now, here are six people who could possibly sit beside Simon and Demi next season:
P!nk
Every time a vacancy on a singing competition opens up, I am surprised that producers do not go after or consider the three-time Grammy winner. P!nk would rock as a mentor for any of the X Factor categories because she would encourage artists to be themselves and make them feel comfortable during the crucial stages of the show.
Rihanna
Reports began circulating during the show’s finale week that Simon Cowell wanted the global superstar to be a judge on either the US or UK versions of X Factor. Rihanna has previous experience with the show as she helped her mentor and former X Factor judge L.A. Reid decide his Top 4 Boys during the show’s inaugural season. Rihanna would definitely rekindle the Young Adults category and could actually work wonders with the Teens.
Christina Aguilera
Hey! Wasn’t she on The Voice? Simon could up the ante to the Voice-X Factor rivalry by stealing the former coach. The divalicious “Genie in a Bottle” singer could definitely coach the Overs to victory because of her experience in coaching powerhouses Frenchie Davis, Chris Mann and Beverly McClellan. In addition, it would also be interesting to see her interact with Simon.
Reba McEntire
While the X Factor is clearly going for the 12-24 demographic, they should not avoid the crucial 25-54 demographic. Simon is going to need a judge that can not only deliver in star power but experience as well. Reba is not only a music industry veteran, but she is a good role model that would make any category happy to call her mentor.
Patti LaBelle
The Queen of Rock N’ Soul would insert a whole lot of class and dignity that this show desperately needs if they want to stay around for two more seasons. Patti LaBelle could work wonders with not only the Groups but also the Overs and make them forces to be reckoned with during and outside the competition.
Sharon Osbourne
The former America’s Got Talent judge was the heart and soul of the NBC hit for six seasons but now that she left the show, Sharon could reunite with Simon to work on The X Factor’s third season. Sharon’s tough love approach and strategizing will help any category she mentors to not only get into the final rounds of the competition, but, to find success outside the show as well.
