Founding Voice coach CeeLo Green broke news that he would be leaving The Voice indefinitely!
So what should Mark Burnett and the Voice production team do with CeeLo’s empty chair? Occupy it with a brand new superstar coach!
Here are six potential superstars that could possibly be a great addition to the show’s seventh season (and beyond)!
Kelly Rowland
The “When Love Takes Over” singer has plenty of experience with nurturing talent as she brought both Amelia Lily and Jeffrey Adam Gutt to their finales on both The X Factor UK and The X Factor USA respectfully. Kelly has terrific ears and I think that she would definitely make her presence known on the show! By the way, it would be interesting to see if Kelly and Xtina have a diva off!
Seal
One of the world’s most beloved crooners is a former two-time winning coach for Voice Australia. However, now that Seal has left the Down Under, I think he might be able to teach Adam and Blake a few things about coaching their contestants to victories. Plus, he could bring in some A-list guest mentors like John Legend and David Foster to advise him during the Battle and Live Rounds.
David Foster
Speaking of the legendary music producer, I think it is time for the show to bring a producer on as a coach. He has worked with Rolodex of superstars such as Andrea Bocelli, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion and the late Donna Summer and Michael Jackson. In addition, he also nurtured the careers of Josh Groban, Michael Buble and Charice. I also think that the contestants would greatly benefit from Foster’s presence.
Cher
The industry veteran stole the Battle Rounds when she assisted Team Blake during last season. Her honest feedback helped a lot of Team Blake’s artists shine! The “Believe” singer would also attract older viewers, which would help turn The Voice into a show where multiple generations watch.
Marc Anthony
American Idol revitalized Jennifer Lopez’s career, imagine what it could do for her ex: the King of Salsa? Recently, the show has attracted a lot of Latino-based artists, While Christina and Shakira do represent the Latin genre of music, Marc would be a much better coach to help them nurture their talent and would make sure more Latinos would make it to the Live Rounds.
Mary J. Blige
If Mark Burnett wants to attract a music icon that has a powerful “voice,” I suggest they start talking to nine-time Grammy-winning artist Mary J. Blige. She has experience with Reality TV as she guest judged Idol in 2010, assisted Nicole Scherzinger on the past year’s X Factor UK and had a great repore with Adam during the Voice’s third season. Mary’s presence would also help the show reach out to rappers and more aspiring R&B superstars.
What do you think of my choices? Who would you pick to sit in CeeLo’s vacant chair?
