While Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens and Fifth Harmony prepare for the biggest week of their lives, Simon Cowell and the X Factor team must begin making arrangements to find another judge as L.A. Reid has announced his departure from the series.
Here are five names that could potentially sit alongside Simon Cowell (and possibly Britney Spears and Demi Lovato) during the show’s third season:
Usher
Who better to replace L.A. Reid then one of his biggest protégées? Yes, the multi-award winning artist is scheduled to participate in the fourth season of The Voice but the “Climax” singer already has a keen eye for talent because he is a mentor of Justin Bieber. In addition, the thought of having both Usher and Britney Spears at the judges’ table would grab additional ratings.
Cee Lo Green
While we are on the subject of The Voice, Cowell and crew should try to approach the “Forget You” singer on joining the X Factor panel. During his duration on the show, Cee Lo is one of the only coaches to have contestants make it into the finales of their respective seasons and is probably the best mentor on that show. In addition, he could actually do wonders with both the Overs and the Group categories.
Justin Timberlake
Some viewers think that this show needs more drama and what better way to insert that factor then to have the musician/actor work with his ex-girlfriend. While there may be a problem with Justin’s filming schedule, the Prince of Pop can definitely be a great addition to the show and could bring the Young Adults category on its feet.
David Foster
One of the greatest producers/songwriters of all-time is David Foster. He has worked with some of the biggest names in music from Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond and both Michael and Janet Jackson to Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and Charice. If Simon wants to work with someone who he considers an equal, then David Foster could be the right choice.
Diddy
Don’t be surprised if Rap mogul Sean Combs is on the shortlist to replace L.A. Reid after the show finishes up next week. The Rap mogul has an empire that shadows SYCO and both rappers and soul singers could benefit by having Diddy as a mentor.
Who do you think should replace L.A. Reid?
