For the third year in the row, Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri are mentoring a group of eight celebrities, who hope to cook up some money for their charities.
In order to win the top prize, celebrities must be able to cook up a storm and impress their mentors and guests along the way!
But only one celebrity will be able to win the top prize and join previous champs Lou Diamond Phillips and Dean McDermott in the winner’s circle.
Here are the eight celebrities competing this year:
Team Rachael (Judy Gold, Florence Henderson, Penn Jillette and Jake Pavelka)
Team Guy (Chris Kattan, Tiffany, Vanilla Ice and Hershel Walker)
The teams’ first challenge was to create a medieval feast for the audience of Medieval Times. Each of the celebrities was in charge of one aspect of their dish. In addition, they must make a presentation to the audience and they were judged superstar chef and Top Chef alum Lee Anne Wong.
Despite Judy cutting her finger, Chris’ ADHD and Florence’s foot injury, both teams were able to finish their meals under the time limit. Team Guy’s decision to go all improv bored the audience while Team Rachael (or as Judy Gold stated-Rachael’s Urgent Care) delivered a show-stopper as Penn breathed fire…which amazed the audience.
Chef Wong stated that both teams had strong dishes and weak elements with their presentations. But in the end, she had to reveal a winner in dishes (Hershel’s apple tart for Team Guy and Penn’s steak from Team Rachael) and an overall MVP….which she awarded to Tiffany for her superb pork sliders.
While Team Guy was awarded the win, Chef Wong advised the two coaches not to eliminate anyone just yet! All eight celebrities will come back and cook for another day!
Next week, the teams must create a luau and one celebrity will be going home!
